  • Told myself I'd try and keep it to one submission a week, but this was too good to pass up.

Thanks for putting the photo in Scotty.

  • FYI the C200 series also supports http://www.rockbox.org/ This means that you get extra functionality (if you want it) but more importantly you can also get SDHC support meaning that you could add significantly more memory to the unit via its MicroSD slot.

Current Rockbox Build for Sansa c200 series http://build.rockbox.org/dist/build-sansac200/rockbox.zip
    Rockbox Utility http://download.rockbox.org/rbutil/win32/rbutilqt-v1.0.6.zip

    • But thanks to Sandisk changing the hardware you can't be sure if Rockbox will work. It doesn't support v2 of the c200/e200 series and you can't be sure of getting a v1 without opening the box to check.

      • Thanks Jabba for that info. Maybe the original poster has some further info on if they are v1 or v2?

        • On the list of features on the front page of www.catchoftheday.com.au does state:
"Supports Rockbox!". If it doesnt support RockBox that'd be false advertising…

So i think it would be reasonable to assume that they will support Rockbox. If not I'll be asking for a refund…

    • I thought SDHC support was a hardware thing not a software one..
Rockbox is pretty good but I don't thin k it's quite that good.. I helped port Rockbox to the Toshiba gigabeat a few years back. it adds great software functionality..

After some searching, it seems I am wrong.. SDHC is just software!!

      • Normally this unit can take up to 2GB microSD where as with SDHC I don't know what the upper limit is. If it enabled you to put a 4GB or 8GB card in some time in the future when memory prices come down it seems a good upgrade path to give the unit good long term usability.

  • Ta mate

  • These are meant to sound pretty good. Just as good as the Cowon D2s.

  • For all the people out there, it's only two mp3 players out there.. The iPod and the "other" mp3 players.

I'm too.. sucked in to this iPod thingy so kinda hard to look at other mp3 players around.

but it's good price anyway !!

  • damn, now im really tempted to buy this =\

  • I can't even buy from Catch Of The Day and I have sent you 2-3 PMs on whirlpool QQQ and you read but don't reply!

And now I've missed out on this AND the books I wanted to get for my mother.
