      ~100-200g heavier.

      Same battery size as e14 so should run out of juice slightly faster due to larger screen.

      Also just a guess but I've heard E14&E15 gen2 fan is quite because it's as very powerful and the bottom case can get pretty hot under full load(~46c). So E15 with same CPU might have more room inside laptop to dissipate overall heat? Or at least have the battery pack further away than the Hotspot.

      I have the 14" version of this.
      It's no longer available, (sold out, might be back??) but performance is amazing.
      The on CPU Vega 7 graphics is double the performance of the dedicated GeForce 940M of my older machine.
      To be clear, I'm comparing integrated graphics vs dedicated GPU silicone, and this wins by a good margin.
      The stare of basic mobile graphics is certainly healthy.
      Still won't make it a gaming rig, but certainly opens up options for better performance light mobile gaming.

      Build quality is good.
      If it's like the 14" version there is room for a second NVMe SSD and 1 x dimm slot.

      There is mild backlight bleed on my device (but this is a different screen).
      Despite negative opinions backlight brightness is adequate at full power for the vast majority of circumstances.
      That said in situation with difficult lighting environments it could certainly use more grunt.

      Feel is good
      Weight is balanced
      Noise is low under benchmarks, absent under basic tasks
      Temps are controlled well

      Minor annoyance with the function key location.

      Paid one year for my on site warranty with my Lenovo that had sleep issues, and they reckoned they didn't need to come out because it's a rare fault.

        Did you get the sleep issues fixed by Lenovo?
        I have a Lenovo that randomly wakes up and eats through the battery. Closing the lid doesn't put it into the sleep mode - the fan continues to work and temperature increases. I saw online that a number of users have complained about these symptoms

          What Lenovo model is yours? Mine got fixed by a BIOS update eventually but I've talked to others (and seen various Asus and Dell forums online) - that have had sleep issues. Where it goes to sleep and after a few hours they can't wake the laptop up. Seems to be only for AMD ryzen laptops.

          My sleep issues were the same as yours but it was totally hit and miss when closing the lid - sometimes would send to sleep, otherwise it would do the same as you've described.

      16gb laptops are pretty common now

      I think it may be mostly for gaming laptops (with GPU) though

      You can (almost always) add extra ram to an 8gb pretty easily anyway

      Depends on preference. The build quality on the E15 will be better. It's designed as an entry level business laptop. If your niece needs a 14" touch screen, you would keep the Asus. The E15 is also has 6 cores vs 4 cores of the Asus.

        Agree, it's not all about spec. The Vivobook is for a completely different use case. I have had a vivobook, and the touch screen made life very easy for me when bringing it to places where using (or bringing) a mouse would not be practical.

        Whilst the laptop in this deal is more powerful, that may not matter if the power does not get used.

      The 5000 series will be a mix of zen2&3. I wouldn't be expecting to see zen3 chips in the low/mid range that this laptop is in.

        Yep. The U lines will be another improve Zen 2 revision while the H line will be featuring Zen 3 cores. Intel mobile has some serious competitor with Apple silicon and AMD mobile Ryzen

      I simply put the TA code in the box below. I went in via the CR website.

      Sorry I can't remember exactly what it looked like but it took the code and reduced to $805. I didn't click the Holidays one.
