Can’t seem to find it on their website ?

    • +3

Links won't open if "your store" doesn't have stock/nearby stock (eg any stores in QLD).
Change your store to Sydney/2000 and try again.

  • +1

    Not visible online for me

  • It's there now.

    • Did you have the link ?

  • +2

Bought one, click and collect. Thank you.

    • Bought one for C&C too, thanks OP!

  • +2

Does anyone know what a "HEPA-type" filter is? I assume this isn't a true HEPA filter.

    • +2

      Means not hepa. Wouldn't bother.

  • Are replacement filters available?

  • +3

any reviews? cheap, but maybe useless?

    • yeh im holding off until someone can vouch for it

    • Good buy. I've had mine for about 12 months

      • What makes it a good buy? What results can I expect to notice by using this product?

  • Seems great deal!

  • +1

Bought this one, just not sure how to get replacement filter:

    • +4

Page 14 of the guide on that link says “Our after sales support centre stocks spare filters for the air purifier. To purchase a filter set, call the centre on 1300 886 649 or email us at [email protected].”

Tempo, that says it all. Those guys import the junkyist of junk from China. It's basically the cheapest supplier of any product they can get their hands on.

        • Isn't Tempo a German company?

          • @omnoms: Narh, their HQ is in Australia. Their products often feature in Aldi's weekly specials. It's almost impossible to get spares. Poor quality and after sales support.

            • @mrhugo: With some filters, you can refill yourself with carbon (Cutting holes and sealign the holes up after you replace it)

              Not sure about these.

    • damn how to cancel order?

      nvm just buy another one

      • -2

yep use the second one as a replacement once the filter in the first one is dead

    • +2

Manual suggests it is replaceable, and TBH you just need one that fits.. Measure it and just buy something online, these things are usually pretty generic.

      eg.

  • could be price error, seems too cheap

    • +10

      more likely clearing dodgy product

  • +1

Big drop price but it’s really small, 21x31cm, good for the dog house

  • +2

Cheaper to buy new one then getting filter

    HEPA style filter.

Dodgy as hell. Here are the specifications for a real HEPA filter.

Filters meeting the HEPA standard must satisfy certain levels of efficiency. Common standards require that a HEPA air filter must remove—from the air that passes through—at least 99.95% (European Standard)[4] or 99.97% (ASME, U.S. DOE)[5][6] of particles whose diameter is equal to 0.3 μm; with the filtration efficiency increasing for particle diameters both less than and greater than 0.3 μm.[7]

    And from this products page…

E11 HEPA-type filter captures 95% of 0.3 micron particles or larger

95% versus a real HEPA standard of 99.95%.

    • will cancel order.

    • +1

Yeah "HEPA style" is pretty vague.
It either meets HEPA standards or it does not

      • +6

"HEPA style"…it looks like HEPA if you stand far enough away!

        • +2

Just like that military-style camo g-string I bought. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me… I can't get fooled again!

    • +2

      There's also this from wiki:
Products that are marketed to be "HEPA-type," "HEPA-like," "HEPA-style" or "99% HEPA" do not satisfy the HEPA standard and may not have been tested in independent laboratories.

      • +3

It's unbelievable that people still believe in deregulating markets.

This is the behaviour from companies when you give them a tiny grey area to operate from, the lie and cheat as much as possible.

They shouldn't be allowed to include the word HEPA whatsoever unless it meets the standard.

    • +12

Imagine if Bunnings sold condom-type protection such as cling wrap.

    • +1

      From what I understand
E11 should only be called EPA
      not HEPA
HEPA should meet the H13 standards (or market as "true HEPA filter" by some brands)

However, IMO unless you really need to filter particles or even some viruses (most viruses are smaller than 0.3 micron anyway)
otherwise E11 filter should be good enough for most household
I got a Xiaomi air purifier with E11 filter and its pretty effective to filter pollen which helps my hay fever a lot

  • Anyone received a confirmation email yet?

    • Yes, I did.

    • Yes, just received notification for C&C from Tuggeranong, Canberra.

  • +1

…to impulse buy or not? think ive got enough things plugged in already

  • any real-world benefits of this? i'd give it a go for $20, but i'd think there would be a reasonable difference between a HEPA filter and HEPA-Type filter.

  • +1

Thanks just bought the larger one.

  • Couldn't decide which one to buy so I got both

  • +2

Bought a couple, will try one and see how it goes. TBH I’m not buying it for HEPA purposes, I wouldn’t trust it for that. But if it reduces dust, I’ll be happy

    • Good luck reducing dust. Even the true hepa with plasmawave tech don't.

      • I don't think that's what plasma wave is intended to do, but yeah it is a feature on more expensive purifiers.

I've had some that did reduce dust a little, but it was many years ago and can't remember the brand.

Also configured 3 HVAC filters with a box fan when I was overseas, cost was less and worked better than most other options

  • Had a crack at ordering one, thanks OP.
I'm not that confident either it'll do anything for those days I'm really suffering from hayfever but for $20 will give it a go. If they run out of stock and cancel the order won't be too fussed this time round …

    • are you sure hayfever not covid ? hehe kidding i have runny nose too every morning (and yes just in the morning)

  • So… should I buy an air purifier?

Before you do, know that air purifiers are not a cure-all. There is very little medical evidence to support that air purifiers directly help improve your health or alleviate allergies and respiratory symptoms.
    https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/appliances/air-purifier-rev…

    • how bout a purfier/de/humidifer/scenter combo

  • Thanks OP. Bought both and don't even know what it does……

    • World's best air purifier.

  • +1

What’s the difference between the two?
    Size?

    • +3

      Air flow (CADR), 110m3 / h vs 178m3 / h

  • Just bought a few. When the filter is unusable just use a new machine. Let's see if click and collect works

    • +3

      More junk in the ground!

      • +2

So true! Buying stuff BECAUSE its cheap and without knowing what its doing is utter nonsense.
Even if this product is kind of cleaning the air, it is still going yo end up in landfill very soon. Therefore buying this product doesnt help you in any way

  • Deal is also available for free D&C(Drive and Collect) in SA as well. Just ordered one from Mile End store. Thanks OP
I got one of the smaller one but from what it says on their website the larger one is also available for D&C (same store).

  • +1

Just got 2, one as a replacement filter only

  • So do these actually do anything?

How long does the filter last until it needs to be changed?

    • From the manual

"When the filter indicator has counted a total of 2000 hours, the FILTER RESET
indicator will start flashing to alert you to clean or replace the filters."

  • +2

Can use as a fan in hot days!

    • howw

      • +1

Put it horizontally at close proximity with the outlet facing you. It blows pretty damn strong.

  • Thanks, bought one for a friend. She suffers from hay fever so hopefully it may help.

    • +8

      She may have covid

  • +1

Don't buy two just for a filter - it's so bloody wasteful - has nothing to do with the cost

    • Problem is the replacement filter is not available in the market

      • Need to call supplier Tempo for replacement. My previous experience with Tempo for spare parts was less than satisfactory (3 attempts and still the wrong screws for the ALDI drawer).

      • You are better off getting a piece of foam and cutting it to size for the filter, it probably works just as good as the original filter (maybe better because it's not coated in Shenzen schmoo) and it's re-washable.

      • Filters can be cleaned.

    • Wasteful of the company to produce so many items. Blame the company not the poor consumer.

      • Blame both. Everyone involved has made a choice.

      • I'd say the company made them for a need/market. The retailer has dumped it at below cost. The only guilty here are the retailer and consumers.

Got one from Epping VIC. Cheers OP.

    • Order got cancelled. Bummer.

  • +1

    Bought one cheers

  • -2

What does it only purify white air ? bit racist eh?

  • $20. Low cost of failure. Worth a game.

  • +1

    Bought the bigger one cheers.

  • +1

Bought 2 from Croydon VIC. thanks

    • +1

Only could collect one. took a refund on the other.

  • About 10 of the smaller one left in Rydalmere NSW

  • Cheaper than filter replacements but OOS for all the bunnings in my area.

  • Bought each of those two, upgrade from my $12 Kmart fan

  • +1

How long does click and collect normally take people? Email states next day. All picked off the floor by then, then the dreaded oos.

    • Depends on the store, i ordered today at 11:25 and just got the collection email at 12:10.

  • For me, it is saying both are out of stock.

  • I have already received a text message from Bunnings Thornleigh NSW, saying that my order was cancelled due to low stock levels and high demand.

    • the opposite i got email

      Hi xxxxxxxxxxxx
