Realme Pro 7 NFC Compatibility with Commbank

I am looking at purchasing the Realme 7 Pro from JB @ $469. One thing holding me back is a one-off comment made my another ozbargain user in this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/602305

"I have an issue with commbank tap and pay (within the commbank app) I hear google pay is fine though so just something to be aware of. NFC works for all other things so possibly something I need to chase up with commonwealth but I can survive for now."

This would definitely be a deal breaker for me as I am a Commbank app user and would want my new phone to work with the app's NFC payments. Has anyone else had issues or success using NFC payments with the Commbank App? Any feedback is much appreciated. Thanks.

    Why would you not just setup your card via inbuilt Google Pay?

    I wouldn't rely on CommBank's app…

    I've never used Google Pay to be honest, although I have no issues setting it up - just never had a need. How do transactions appear in the bank statements? Similar to PayPal or exactly like they would if I paid with the credit card directly?

    I use my account for business expenses so having transactions such as "GooglePay 321425643278" would be a bit frustrating when it comes to tax time.

      Google pay is way better and easier to access than through commbank app
