same deal as before just no more F1 tix? F1 offer was supposed to expire tomorrow?

    • Apologies for confusion. This was only available in store up until now. The F1 ticket offer was in selected stores in/near Melbourne

    • I thought the F1 deal finished on 13/3/12?
I know that's the case with the Nexus $5+$49 offer.

  • hes referring to the online deal.
the deals before were only available in stores =)
nice to know we can do it online now so plus plus for me =)

  • Rep,
any chance of matching this on "Hot for Vodafone", which was also $16/m for the GN? (for people converting from Hot for 3 plan)
If you can do that plus the 1GB/month currently on offer, I'm in.

    • Me too if confirmed to work for "first on 3" moving to Hot for voda

    • So you want a Nexus and 1GB data for $15 a month ($10 plan + $5 fone).. I really doubt.. They will do it without the data.. I got an XL free on the Hot for Voda plan..

      • They might do it because last last year, the SGS2 was free for moving my Hot for 3 to Hot for Voda. So $10 plan + 1GB data + $0 phone! Total cost over 24 months = $240.

Got one more Hot for 3 plan waiting for something nice.

        • Where's the 1 gb data offer posted ?? Thanks

      • Dealayed,
generally the handset payments on "hot for voda" are the same as for the $29 plan. They are doing the N9 for $0.

        • Their pricing is erratic. You can get the 64GB N9 for $0. Or you can pick the 16GB N9…for$0.

  • I highly doubt they will do it if you are on a hot for 3 or vodafone because its not generating them much money at all. I work at vodafone and have not seen 1 person get it

  • Good deal for Galaxy Nexus. Good for those who already aren't tied up in a contract (like me).

I think you can get $100 cashback with moneybackco or buckscoop.

    • Can anyone confirm this?

    • how do u do this?

    • You srs? I hate my Vodafone network. It was pouring last night in Sydney. My s2 had no signal from 9pm til this morning. Had to use viber via Wifi.
Virgin's network is even better than vodafail

Offers for a short time only.
Lol… They'll just extend it for another month on 28 Feb

      • What area?

But Virgin's service is the worst. I asked to go on another contract with them but didnt want to pay exit fees and they denied it and was so rude about it.. (Australia's wonderful offshore customer service world.. This is the wifes phone.. the last 3 bills have been over cap and i just want to get more calls for my cap plan..

rep, if u can match my current voda contract ill switch and extend my contract with voda for another 24 months

  • It really depends what fees you have and so fourth as to whether I can credit your fees or not. Anyone wanting a brand new contract hit me up got some awesome deals!

      • turn email on mate!

Hi rep, <insert unreasonable request>, I'll join Vodafone.

Lucky I got an iPhone 4S few weeks ago. Looks like the resale values on these Nexus is not great.

    • You buy phones for their resale value?

I'd rather have the freedom than be confined what the limited stuff that the iPhones have to offer….

      SGS2 FTW!

  • -1

Dunno why my comment was removed/hidden. I don't see any difference as other comments saying ss or dmi are crappy vendors. They don't get treated like this.

Vodafone limited time offers are bs. They never expire unless a cheaper plan takes over it.

Mehhh whatever. Guess everyone knows why their contracts are cheaper than others.

    • The Galaxy S II was $0 on the $29 cap before Christmas and it hasn't been back at that price since.

      • The nexus s was on special for limited time only. 29 cap for months. They kept on extending it every month and then started giving free mths.

Galaxy series is kinda like the iphone.. Even s is still holding its value. It was on a 29cap last month. Lol

        • Fair enough. Just, I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't a permanent price point - if you're looking at this phone probably worth grabbing it soon.

    • Dunno why my comment was removed/hidden…

Because the parent comment posted by @beany155 was hidden.

      • i didnt hide anything, i promise… lol

  • disappointed in the fact that i'm with 3 yet… they're still two different companies? wait wut. can't be a true ozbargainer and save 10% on the second account.

    Don't forget 10% off monthly access fee if your a NRMA member. So $26.10 + $5 = $31.10 a month.

    http://shop.vodafone.com.au/partner/nrma

You need to enter your membership number in now though.

    • +1

Tried entering the membership number on line. The code got accepted, but the check out minumum monthy cost is still $34!

Does anyone have experience whether the discount will eventually be given please?

      • +1

So did you manage to get the 10% discount?

      • you can get a better deal than the above offered

    • can get it even cheaper than that

  • Are phones from deals like this usually locked to the network?

  • +3

    Can be unlocked for free.

    • thanks. repped.

    Dear Voda,

    Get a $39 plan.

  • Is it not one of the most over-hyped over-rated phones?

    • +7

      you mean the 4s?

  • which one is better ??????? Galaxy S2 or Galaxy Nexus…

    • S2 wins hands down

      • hmm..y is that? ICS isnt even available on the samsung galaxy right now

  • What does "Hot for Voda" mean?

    • +2

It's a cap on Vodafone for people who switched from Three (who had a similar plan there)

      • Thanks!

  • +2

    looking for some genuine opinions:
I predict in 2 or 3 month time a whole lot of ICS phones will come out. what stops me from getting this phone now is the fact that in 3 months time I will be staring at it and tell myself i'll be stuck with this crap for another 21 months. Thoughts?

    • Nexus will get the updates first. So while the next batch of phones will get the quad core, crazy resolution and humongous size. Nexus will still be on the latest Android.

The trend I like going on the next mobiles is the HUGE batteries. Like Razor Maxx and Atrix 3 with 3000+mAh batteries

    • +1

I would wait to be honest. I am not a big fan of the Nexus. The camera is pretty terrible, SGS2 has a much better camera. Has no external MicroSD, SGS2 does. Doesn't really have much on the SGS2, except NFC and slightly higher res. screen.
Wait for SGS3 later this year.

  • lol same here. i was even considering to get the S2 when it was free under the 29 cap during christmas.
but i think right now it's a good deal on the nexus, since it only came out recently and hopefully the price will be higher after the "promotional" period :p

when other ICS phones come out in 3 months time.. they are not likely to be on 29 cap + $5??

  • Was on three network, 2 weeks till my plan finishes. Ordered the galaxy nexus through phone. The rep gave me this deal and threw in an extra 1GB of data, no charge.

  • I considered the Nexus but couldn't get past it not having any external storage.

  • so does buckscoop cashback works with this offer?

  • +1

and does any1 know if you can negotiate in store to get extra data/1 month free for the same price?

    • +1 has anyone succeeded in getting extra data before? 200mb seems measly

      • 200mb seems measly

Sure is. May be better to go on the 12 month $49 cap, for slightly higher total cost. $888
Only a years service, but 1.5GB and many more minutes per month.

    • +1

Not in store, but through phone. The customer service on the line gave me an extra 1GB of data FOC. Still the same 29 cap and $5 mobile.

      • you can get the Nexus cheaper on the $29 cap through the call centre

  • nice! but were u an existing 3 customer? how did u neg for extra data?

    • Yes, I was an existing 3 customer with two weeks to go on my contract. The vodafone person I spoke to on the phone just offered the 1gb extra over the phone. It's their way of rewarding customers who don't visit the physical shops.

  • i can beat this deal

    • +1

      how?

      • ring this number 1300 303 379 and ask for Joel Roberts

        • +1

lol do you work for voda? wat can u offer?

      • Hi yeah i cant post it online so if you call through ill let you know

        • turn email on?

  • btw the deal is supposed to expire on the 28th. But on the vodafone website, it doesn't seem to mention "offer ends 28.02.2012" etc.. as compared to the S2 deal.

Does anyone think/know that the price drop on nexus is permanent?
