Been keeping my eye on prices for the 40mm but saw this pop up and thought I'd share. Currently $479 elsewhere. It's an import, but suspect OW should still price beat for local stock.

It does provide a lot of bang for buck. If I could take pictures with my watch then my phone would, barely, see the light of day. I have an iPhone, an Apple Watch and an iPad. I barely use the iPhone, unless as a hot spot, but I use the watch, and iPad, all day.
It’s harder and slower to type text msgs on the iPad bcos the screen is bigger than the iPhone tho…
I, tend, to send text messages via the watch. The phone stays the the bag or my pocket.
The watch, also, means I’m not charging around my house, or scrabbling through my bag, to try to answer my phone. I can see the phone number and see if I want to answer.
Yesterday I was a secondary Covid contact. The watch pinged me at 4.30 pm, I went down to the test place, and the negative response was back by 11:30 pm. All messages delivered to the convenience of my wrist. My iPhone would’ve, likely, not been looked at until around midnight when I’m doing my Qantas “health” points. I would’ve lost a day because I would’ve got tested the next morning.
@ilovefullprice: I’ve been using the letter formation with my finger. It isn’t the greatest but most of my messages are short. There are a bunch of responses you can select.
@ilovefullprice: No probs. I love the watch but I’d been hanging out for my “Dick Tracey” watch for decades. It isn’t perfect but there are quite a few, useful, apps. The other consideration is being able to call for help in the case of a fall. You don’t have to be old, we all do dumb things at times.

they never reduce prices they just take them away. Few stockists might clear them with dead stock but thats all

It becomes a price drop vs lack of stock trade off. You leave it too late there isn’t any stock left.

Have read that dick smith imports can be dodgy/ripoffs/refurbished etc and that Apple won't honour any normal apple warranty (I know it comes with a dick smith one) but haven't had any direct experience to know for myself.
