Thanks, your FAQ page saves me some time.

          • @RichardL: The only downside is that the site uses Markdown tables for deals, posts and comments, whereas the wiki pages use DokuWiki, so you cannot just copy and paste the table I've coded in the Wiki and paste it in a deal…

I should find a way around that so I save you (and others) even more time!

New version can be used online and swapped for other eGCs.

  • What is the maximum amount of cards that can be used at JBHIFI in one transaction?

    • I don't think JB Hi-Fi has coded a specific limit into their POS (point-of-sale) systems for the number of cards you can redeem in one transaction in-store.

Someone previously stated the record at a store was 63.

wow i remember buying my ps4 and using 3 cards id acculated doing online surveys and the guy looked at me like i took a shit in his lunch

      • I will be very close to 63 this weekend.
Collected a lot of them for last few months.

        • The idea is to beat 63 so you get bragging rights.

Please bring back the 30x Everyday Rewards Points on Apple Gift Card.

  • Perfect timing. Subscription was going up to $120 on Nov 25th for me. Going to cancel that and get this card to save $12

    • xbox gold still have the free monthly trials?

    • Can the subscription stack up when multiple cards is being used?

  • Can you purchase these using a Woolworths Gift Card?

  • Interesting, just noticed that Thanks can be used for Menulog! Good to stack with the $6 discount offers :D

  • What's the maximum number of gift cards allowed to be purchased in one transaction? Or is it at the discretion of the checkout assistant or store manager?

    • +1

The absolute maximum allowed per transaction by checkouts in some circumstances is ten, but in reality, it will likely be lower, as there are other limits:

      • Store managers or duty managers may set their own limits (e.g. $500 per transaction per day, 2x gift cards per transaction).

      • If you are trying to purchase more than $1,000 worth of gift cards in one transaction, the self-service checkout will not process the transaction. You’ll need to go to a serviced checkout.

      • If you are trying to purchase more than $1,000 worth of gift cards in one transaction, it will also require store manager or duty manager approval.

      • If you are trying to purchase up to $1,000 worth of gift cards in one transaction, regular staff can approve it, but it will also be at their discretion.

      • If you are trying to purchase gift cards in multiple transactions to try and get around these limits, staff will notice this and will only let you do this at their discretion.

      • There’s nothing stopping you from going to a second (or third, or fourth, etc) store on the same day and continuing your gift card purchases, as this deal does not have a limit on the number of transaction or number of cards that can be purchased by each Everyday Rewards member. The last deal (an Apple gift card deal) was limited to one transaction per member per day.

I actually addressed your question here.

    • 10 per transaction, i got 27 this morning at the counter, 3 transactions.

  • Please note that the Disney+ card is for new subscribers only.

I got stung for this just now trying to activate and add it to my already active subscription. I've cancelled my sub so hopefully I can add it once expires.

    • I literally did the same.
Paid for the $1.99 trial and was looking to activate the annual and it shows new subs only.
Let me know if you find a way around this (other than to create a new account of course)!

  • Does Woolworths stock the variable load ($5-1000) Ultimate Thanks cards? I've only ever seen the $50 and $100 cards but if I could get the variable load cards from a Melbourne Woolworths I think I would just prepay my Menulog purchases for the next six months or so.

My issue is that if I use the $100 cards I will be left with an unusable balance of a few dollars on each card since split transactions aren't an option. I noticed that the Thanks card can be exchanged for a The Iconic voucher which would work for me but I'm not sure if this applies to random small balances or just specific amounts.

    • Wait what. So if the money left on the Thanks gift card can't cover the whole order then the money just can't be used at all and goes to waste? No other options to use the remaining amount on the Thanks gift card?

      • +1

You can spend the remaining balance on an in-store purchase in combination with another payment method but that doesn't help me since I'm strictly interested in using the card for Menulog and you can't do split payments online. Carrying around a bunch of cards with $1-10 left on each of them and hoping the staff at T2 or some other shop will let you do a split payment across twenty cards sounds like a nightmare.

        • I bought a Thanks card to use for Menulog. This is my first time using this card. Will see how much I have left on it towards the end, and go to T2 or The Body Shop to spend the leftover dollars.

Menulog not being able to do split payments kind of devalues the 10% return on the Thanks card. Sadface.

          • +1

@Alinnia: IMO this is the biggest drawback with giftcards when you're left with small balances and trying to finish it up through split payments. Different GC but I also have a couple of TCN Restaurant GC with $0.15 and $0.39 left and struggling to use them up.

PS: If you're keen for discounts to use for Menulog TCN Restaurant GC will also work- just convert into digital card. Will also work for Liven.

            • @Craze:

I also have a couple of TCN Restaurant GC with $0.15 and $0.39 left and struggling to use them up.

… and that is how TCN will make additional money off you! (And that’s why I only get gift cards where it is easy to use up small balances and do split payments.)

              • +1

@WookieMonster: Yeah and it's a hassle to be keeping track of gift cards too (in general). I'll try to use up these small balances eith Macca's Nov deals, but can only do card/ cash split payment, not card/ card payments

    • I have been to a handful of Woolworths stores recently after the Ultimate Visa gift cards were introduced, and I have not seen any Ultimate Thanks variable load gift cards.

The only variable load Ultimate gift card I have ever seen Woolworths sell are Ultimate Teens (EFTPOS) gift cards, where you can load between $20 and $500 on a single card.

      • I feared that might be the case. I tested my other idea and you definitely can't exchange the card's balance for anything except certain fixed amounts ($20, $25 and $50, at least for the various e-vouchers I tried).

I think the Deliveroo cards make a lot more sense than the Menulog ones for those looking to use them for food delivery since you can add the vouchers to your Deliveroo account and use up the entirety of the card's balance.

    • How were you planning to "prepay" your Menulog purchases? I think you're still bound to still end up with small balances on the card as you'd still need to do an initial load of round numbers without cents? (i.e. $60, $80 etc., wouldn't work for $50.50)

      • If Woolworths actually stocked the $5-1000 variable Thanks cards I would have bought a couple with $1000 loaded on each. That way the small leftover balances would be spread across a much smaller number of cards that I could just spend at T2 or something. But with $100 seemingly being the largest denomination available it's not worth the hassle of dealing with so many cards and balances.

Deliveroo isn't as good a service as Menulog but at least I can redeem the Baby & Mum cards for straight Deliveroo credit that doesn't leave anything left over.
