Lenovo XiaoXin Pad Pro 2021 (11.5" OLED, 6GB/128GB SD870, Widevine L1) US$387.83 (~A$547.57) Delivered @ Giztop

CompulsiveOzB very kindly pointed out that this popular tablet can be had slightly cheaper at Giztop. If you want DHL shipping then the cost will be US$397.83 (~A$561.69). It's a good alternative to my Banggood deal.

Update: Price on the tablet has increased, shipping remains the same and the coupon is still valid. Deal marked as expired.

This tablet features Widevine L1 for Netflix HD, Android 11, the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 CPU that's excellent for gaming, 128GB Storage (expandable), 11.5" 2560x1600 OLED display with 600nit brightness, 8600mAh battery with fast charge and JBL speakers. There's also HDMI out via USB-C with a 'PC Mode' similar to Samsung DeX that works well with a keyboard and mouse.

For reviews I recommend checking out Techtablets' review that covers all the basics, ETA Prime's review which covers gaming, emulation and PC Mode and GizmoChina's review to see the OLED display and JBL Dolby Atmos speakers in action. A downside for some people is that the display is pentile and this means the text may look less sharp up close.

  • Damn this is an excellent deal because it's also a 90Hz display. I'm tempted!

    • It's basically a pentile display (delta arrangement).

You're not really getting the resolution shown on the box, and it shows up with respect to text clarity.

      • +1

Yeah pentile looks worse but its still a super high resolution screen in a "cheap" laptop.

IMO best in class at the price.

  • Was hoping for a sub $500 deal. I might keep waiting

Hopefully the exchange rate improves more.

小心 Xiao Xin means careful in Mandarin…..🤔

    • +3

not the same Xin. Here the Xin is 新,which means 'new'.

      • which doesn't make a lot of sense. Little new?

        • +2

          Car pet= carpet?

          • @belongsinforums: i don't think it works that way

            • @lostn: Compound words are so hard. Still trying to wrap my head around them. Who knew that you could put two words together to make a new word? Fascinating

        • The name doesn't make sense in Chinese too. But it's just a name for Lenovo's budget line so we have gotten use to it…

        • +1

It's a nickname, the 'Xiao' here is meaningless and is merely a placeholder and to make it sound more personable. In Chinese we add 'Xiao' to a lot of things, especially to names. This usually happens when a person of some kind of seniority or authority denotes a younger person or a subordinate. For instance, you're the supervisor and a new employee comes in, his surname is 'Li', it is customary and appropropriate to address him as 'Xiao Li'.

Hence by extension the name 'Xiao Xin' is denoting that it is predominently aimed at the young people market. To remove the pscyhological distance between the product and customers.

    • lol you're not wrong

Also, I wonder if the person created the coupon code has anything to do PireteBay

  • Any deal for this + keyboard case?

    • On the listing there's the option to add the keyboard case for $89 US. Pricey but other sellers have it for so much more.

      • Expensive, but worth it imo.

      • I take it I have to buy the keyboard even if I only want the kickstand?

        • +1

You can buy that separately from somewhere like AliExpress.

  • no 4 gee

  • This vs Mi Pad 5? I know stock is an issue but assuming stock OS is easier to manage with the Mi Pad? Thinking as a gift.

    • I own a Mi Pad 5 pro and I feel the Xiao Xin pad is better.
The OLED screen is a lot better than the IPS on the Mi Pad + the screen is bigger.
Also USB3.1 means the USB port is actually useful for external storage.

About the only thing the Mi Pad has over the Lenovo is the super fast charging. It can go from 0 to 60% in about 30mins.

only drawback is, Lenovo doesn't give updates either on time or not at all.

    • -1

this is true. I bought their flagship phone about 8 years ago. There was only one update. Android 4.1 to 4.2. A very minor update. It didn't even go to 4.3, which was the minimum needed for Android Wear smartwatches, which I was in the market for. If that's how they treat their flagship product then I don't have any expectation they will update anything else.

    • I think XDA has a fairly good development for custom ROMs etc. Not that I've tried…

      • Not for this tablet. Basically nothing.

  • What’s the chance of this not arriving by Christmas?

    • It's a fair chance. Should be much quicker with DHL.

Got this from the last Banggood deal.
Decent performing tablet with nice speakers, only downside for me is the screen.

Not noticeable when using in decently light areas or bright colours on screen or black. In the dark with lower brightness I see uneven pixel brightness. My Samsung Tab S6 didn't have this issue.

Not sure if it's just my tablet or a common problem.

Recent OS update added floating windows for apps but broke split screen for unsupported apps even if you have the force enable option in developer settings.

    • That's me out. Thanks for the feedback.

  • I'm looking for about an 8 inch tablet to use as an infotainment thing for my car. Any recommendations that isnt too expensive ~$300

  • Found another one on Aliexpress for a cheaper price.
I think it's the same model.

Around $415 US before GST. There's the 2020 model on that listing hence the lower price.

  • Was thinking of using it for navigation as well. But no GPS on this according to the specifications or as per XDA

  • those are very good specs for the price. It's the closest you'll get to a flagship Android tablet by anyone besides Samsung. But I don't know what kind of warranty you can expect from the retailer.

I bought this from Giztop during it's last deal promotion about a month or so ago. Super happy with it. The android version works straight out of the box with Widevine L1, however, play store doesn't have Netflix, so I installed F-droid and Aurora store to load Netflix on. Works a treat. However, Netflix is only in HD but not higher. Anybody knows why? As the screen should be capable of full HD, no? Sound is fantastic, and it's had one minor OTA update and some keyboard updates. Battery life is good and the screen is fantastic. maybe some of you who are critical and have much better eyesight than mine will complain, but looks bright and vibrant enough for me. I did buy the tablet with the cover and keyboard, a bit pricey, but others have sole them for about $10 more. Another consideration is the GST component. Aliexpress and Bangood would add another 10%, whilst Giztop managed to ship as a gift…. if you can read between the lines. All in all, one of the best tablets I've ever owned. Good luck peeps.

However, Netflix is only in HD but not higher. Anybody knows why?

Having Netflix HD and above is a 2 step process. Widevine L1 is required for HD and Netflix must whitelist the device for it to go higher. Unfortunately Netflix have no whitelisted the XiaoXin Pad Pro.

      • Thank you for clarifying

    • My same experience also with this purchased from Giztop. Very pleased with it. The sound is awesome.

  • I bought this tablet and found some issues and the quality of the pentile screes it isn't one. Some apps and games that works with my Samsung tab don't work on this one. e.g there screen turns black for a second in some games, Kodi also goes to a permanent black screen after the loading screen. This is addition to limited resolution in netflix, prime and youtube. I installed multiple upgrades but the issues persists. Other than these issues, the tablet is snappy and good quality,

    • +1

That.. does sound quite concerning huh. I guess I'll hold off after all

      • +1

I still think it's a great tablet, but the software has these little quirks. It could be related to some screen settings or codex. I don't play many games with the tablet so it's not a big issue. Kodi is the odd issue, since it's launched, but the screen is completely black. Also I found some issues with youtube vanced that I need to clear the app data to connect, while in other devices it works without needing to reset the data.
I'm coming from a Samsung tabs S2 and S3 so this is a huge improvement and much cheaper than an S7+ or S8.
BTW, got it form the same vendor with express DHL delivery and it arrived on time.

Edit: just fixed the Kodi issue by changing refresh rate to 60Hz

        • Thanks for the follow up. Has the YouTube Vance issue been a one off job so far or do the issue reoccurs?

  • I cant download shopback on it. Same thing for others?

    • What about Cashrewards? :P

      • That works. Got to get them all.

  • The shipping cost is $39.9. How can you get $10.00for shipping?

    • There never was $10 shipping. A few trolls in a previous deal said there was.

  • Anyone found a way to get English text on some of the system apps/settings? I've changed the language to English but noticed that even the change logs for system updates etc are in Chinese

Oh and for those setting up from scratch, what have you done to set it up besides downloading the Play Store apk? Keen to know if there's any other key things to do for set up
