Samsung QA65LS01TAWXXY 65" The Serif QLED 4K Smart TV 2021 $1650 (Free Shipping Sydney & Wollongong) @ Appliance Central

190

This TV may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it sure might be a wife pleaser, as its design really is kinda cool (IMO) and might blend in with the furniture/decor a little better than a huge black box!

The screen does not have all the latest fancy pants tech, but its still QLED, and looks good to me.

Currently $2295 at JB, Harveys, and $2695 at the Good Guys.

Interesting shape, I'm not sure if I do or don't like how it looks though. Nice find OP

It has a very sophisticated look. Added bonus of the shape the top doubles as a shelf for decor or in my case a white sonos arc. One thing to consider, unless you use the legs it comes with, you will need a tv cabinet that's at least as long as the tv

  • Was 1695 a few days ago at Harvey Norman, etc … should be too hard to get a price match.

    • Sure that wasn't the 55"? Happy to stand corrected.

      • Yeah - I'm sure. I don't see the 65" deal posted on ozbargain, though.

The 55" goes on sale for around $1395 (I think). 43" goes on sale for $895.

I've got a 55-inch and it's lovely. Definitely a unique looking TV, but if it can fit with your decor it's fantastic.

  • Specs wise is this better, same or worse than the frame?

    • +1

I think specs wise, its the same. Or very very close. I like the One Connect box of The Frame, this one doesn't get that. But the Serif comes with the legs, as far as I know. I like the idea of being able to easily move the tv forward, closer to the lounge, if you wanted to, for a special movie night etc.

Ah right, thanks for the info =)

I believe this is akin to q60 and the frame is q70

    I have a 55" Serif
No complaints at the quality from either general viewing or the PS5

I like the unorthadox shape and design personally :D

Terrible TV especially the colour reproduction with SD content such as free to air TV. With UHD content it's ok but with SD content the reds were oversaturated and had difficulty tuning it out.

Surely the only colours you need for FTA are black and white

  • Got the 55in last boxing day and it's very lovely. Didn't know there was a 65in

  • How does it compare to TCL C727?

    • I believe 727 has FALD , dare say the TCL would have significantly better picture quality

      • So the Micro Dimming on this TV doesn't compare to FALD?

    • For PQ, the TCL and the Hisense u9g etc will be better, but that is not what this TV is about. It has a simple to use interface, a very unique look and design, and also looks good when its switched off, with the "art" and "ambience" modes etc. Nice remote. I can't decide between this Serif, the TCL c727, or the ug9. The PQ looked fantastic on the Serif to my untrained eye, and I think it….just….looks cool!

      • Those 3 are at different price points though. The 65inch TCL C727 is $1195/- on sale at the Goodguys until Monday.

Good point. Sorry. And technically even the TCL might have better PQ than this Samsung. This TV is about the vibe. :)

@PotPlant: No worries mate. I am very tempted by the TCL but hoping the Mini-LED TCL C825 in 65 inch will be closer to $1500/- soon.

  • I’m known as the wife disappointer….I also cost a lot less than $1650.

Great tv and good buying. I have the 43 and it’s a winner and personally like the unique styling.

Whenever guests are around they all comment on it too in a good way
