A good price but the tickets conveniently expire before The Batman is released on 3 March!

    • +2

Damn. I was gonna buy one specifically for this movie😭

      • +12

        its actually on the T&C!

"This voucher cannot be redeemed or booked for The Batman"

        • -1

          Wow, your right!
Hopefully someone can find a way around this

        • Let’s contact and ask why!

          • +5

@BargainSnatcher: It's because it's a slow time of year for movie cinemas as there aren't any big blockbuster releases that will draw massive crowds. Hoyts have done this in previous years around late Jan/Feb and it always expires about a week before the next big blockbuster movie is released. They are essentially trying to get people who wouldn't have otherwise went out to see a movie into their cinema by selling cheap tickets.

    • +1

If you've seen any of the prior films, most people expire before the Batman.

    • +1

I was about to say the same thing! I may end up watching up it in IMAX though, I think Greig Fraser's cinematography needs to be seen on the biggest screen possible.

      • +1

I agree, all of Fraser's cinematography has been very good. Dune absolutely blew me away, close to Roger Deakins' level of cinematography. All of the trailers for The Batman have indicated that it'll look amazing as well!

  • +1

    Plus "booking fee"?

    • +8

Booking fee only applies if you redeem it via HOYTS App or online website

      • That’s Typically how most people want to book

        • Unless you want to redeem multiple tickets, as the $1.50 fee applies for each individual ticket

  • What is that? A saving of 93% lol

    • +1

Do you normally pay $142.71 for a Hoyts ticket?

      • +1

It feels like it. Plus add another $70 - $80 for the popcorn and drinks combo.

        • +1

          Small combo

          • +2

@mdavant: Of course, I normally have to get bank approval to get the large combo.

            • @MrPants: Might be interested in this deal, you'll have to enter the large popcorn bucket as your security property though.

From the Hoyts website, some pretty 'ugly' people go to the movies :-)

    • So it's your go to? 🤪

  • -3

Does this comes with free Rona?

    • +1

Nothing is free at a cinema, I believe its $49.95 plus booking fee. Or $17 on tight arse Tuesdays.

  • +1

Has anyone redeemed one successfully yet? Just tried to pay for my session using the 'Gift Card' option and it gives me a red cross.

    • Yep redeemed and used it last night. Used at the box office to avoid booking fees.

  • +3

For anyone who missed it like me:

Before you get to the payment screen or even enter how many tickets….

    1. Select the movie session and cinema
    2. Insert your voucher number and pin in to the “redeem voucher” box
    • Didn't get scammed did you? Consumer law stronk, claim it back

      • Nah. I just assumed that it would be entered at the payment screen, when you enter it before selecting the tickets.

    • Lifesaver

  • Surprised there's no booking fee for once…

  • For anyone over 60 then the seniors deal is worth looking at

Looks like it's all sold out now

    • I bought some after work this arvo. Good deal. Just checked again and it looks like they’re still in stock now.

  • Why does this say 'Voucher valid for one General Admission ticket for one person ' when you can buy 10?

  • How much does it cost (extra) to book Xtremescreen session?

"For any D-BOX, 3D and/or Xtremescreen movie session with an upgrade fee which will be applied at time of redemption payable directly to HOYTS cinemas"

    • Just bought a Xtremescreen seesion for Uncharted and it costed $4 extra for the upgrade

      • Thanks for the info!

  • Are these deliveredy pretty well instantly?

May or may not see Spidey tomorrow night with someone but they're 50/50 on it and will likely decide tomorrow night, due to the short expiry date, I don't have any other time available to see anything if I buy 2 vouchers.

Would be good to know if I could buy tomorrow at like 330 to see a movie around 4ish is all or if I'll be SOL.

    • yes, I got mine within seconds.
