Just received an email from Apple for Mothers Day Apple Pay perks advertising Special.com.au. Save 15% (up to $20) with promo code APPLEPAY.

Looks to be once per customer.

Special cards are digital gift cards locked to a category and you can send to someone via email or sms. Then they can add to their mobile wallet Apple or Google Pay.

Mod: The OP did not declare their association. The account and store is banned, but the deal has been republished (with association added by mods), as it appears to be of interest to the community.

This is part of Mother's Day deals for 2022.

          My wife sent me a $134 card by spending $114 on our CC.
          I used $114 of that card to buy her a $134 card.
          Total cost $114 for $154 of cards!

        Did this earlier today and it worked but tried to buy a third Super Shopper card with the second Super Shopper card (aiming for $174 from a $114 spend) and I'm getting a payment issue error. Maybe we've tipped them off to this loophole.

        I just did that across my family (5) and ended up with a total cost of $114 for $194 worth

        Each time was done using Apple Pay on web browser (mobile or pc) - It doesn't work if using the Specials app. Using the CC details won't work either. Don't know if it has to do with this:

        Apple Pay uses the Device Account Number instead of providing your credit or debit card number (Each iPhone has it's own Device Account Number and since the they see it's a different 16 digit number that acts like a card it goes through?)

          Bought one card for my missus via PC, then used that card to buy one for myself. Had to set up Google Pay (Samsung phone) as could not enter original giftcard details as payment method. Worked a treat!

          Looks like it.. Needed a "do it at your own risk" warning with that tip.

          Although I don't believe they banned everyone who used this loophole. They seem to have targeted those who were caught doing it multiple times.

          Store was banned because the seller didn't declare being part of the store/associated.

          Gift cards worth fine, I used it the same way doweyy did, to buy a woolworths giftcard with student edge discount

    Hmm not sure what happened with my order but the authorisation charge is appearing on my credit card but the order didn't seem to go through properly. Don't really want to try again just in case i get charged twice. Wish the OP wasn't banned so they could respond to me..

      Maybe you can use TWAM to request an exception to the ban in this case, because it's to help resolve a potential issue (and involving already charged funds) with a published deal?

        Yea mine was refunded after I contacted them. I rebooked (apple pay option had disappeared) and it worked fine. So they must have fixed the issue

    Tried to buy $133 of the Shopping one but the website charged me twice ($113.05 two times) on my credit card and no records of orders or gift card…..seems to be something wrong with this website.

    Idk tbh, seems fishy bc:

    • 15% off supermarket gift cards has been the highest we’ve seen on OzB, usually around only ~5-10%
    • App was only released recently per the Apple Store, with comments started since late February this year

      No issues for me. Added it to my Google Pay, It's basically a MasterCard. Can use it for Tap & Pay or online by entering the card number, expiry and CVV ect.

          No, you can apply the 15% off code on any device. It’s not strictly limited to Apple phones

                    @wekimekigugudan: Ah… OK. I thought there was a way to see the full (virtual) card number from within GooglePay itself. Using the Special app, I can see the full (real) card number, including the CVV (which virtual cards don't have, I believe).

                    The CVV is needed for most online transactions, I think, so that means GooglePay virtual card numbers can't be used for online transactions? Anyway, thanks.
