Changes to 28 Degrees Credit Card Accepted Payment Method

Just found out that 28degrees have added another change to paying your credit card bill. Going to 'pay your account' leaves you with this

This payment method has moved to our new Latitude Service Centre

The Latitude Service Centre has a range of new features and an improved look and feel. You can access it by clicking here.

If you have used the Latitude App before, you can log in using your Latitude ID and password.

If you haven’t used the Latitude App before and need a Latitude ID, simply click Register at the link above to get started. More information about the Latitude Service Centre >can be found here.

For your security, you may be required to verify your bank account in the Latitude Service Centre prior to making payments. Please allow 2 business days to complete this >process. For more information on payments, click here.

The 'verification' procedure looks like it's a deposit test, where they send you some small amount and you tell them how much.

All in all it's only a small hurdle, but it could catch you out if you aren't prepared.

  • I was having a weird issue where i couldnt log in via the website…but the app was okay. The verification process was quite quick. They still have a blackout period after direct deposit payment where they wont let you do it again which is annoying but luckily have yet to be caught out with price protection free calcuation dates.

  • Yeah and it could take a while to get those transactions. I waited 3 business days with nothing, so called to complain. They waived the Bpay fee so I could pay before my billing date, but not before hanging up on me the call before.

    • the timing is all over the place, sometimes it takes 2-3 days, but the last one i did on Sunday, went through the next day

  • Why even use 28 Degrees anymore? Up and ING are free debit cards with no international fees and without all the drama of having limited ways to tranfer money to them.

Legacy price protection insurance policy :)

Because the two you just mentioned are debit cards, not credit cards.

Why do you need a credit card?

Because it's safer using someone else's money when you never pay interest.

            @Mechz: Exactamundo.

Credit card -> fraud-> The bank: "So sorry that happened. We will refund the money immediately. Also you still have your own money in a different account in case you need it"
Debit card -> fraud -> The bank: "we will investigate this, and get back to you in 4-6 weeks on whether you will get the money back. In the meantime, if your poor you can go somewhere and die I guess. We don't care."

This. And it saves me money by offsetting the mortgage during the interest fee period.

I was actually able to verify the transactions, but the payments kept failing anyway. Far more than enough money in the account, and never had an issue before the switch to using the Latitude Service Centre.

After numerous attempts to call and a collective couple of hours of hearing the same hold music I got through, heard a bark, a hello, and the call was dropped.

Problem was that it only told me the debit failed a week after each attempt!

    • THIS++++++++ new payment centre at last second is a joke. Tried to ring, failed. submitted online form, no responce. Now showing as overdue!!!!! The sooner I can leave the better!
