What do you drink out of?

      • +1

Straight out of the trough, as nature intended.

  • +5

No chance… this glass could tip over!

    • +6

Yeah, we had 2 of those and they are so annoying. Not sure what they were thinking

      • I love mine! They never tip over, they look like they might but dont.

      • +1

I use them for my whiskey. They are fantastic

    • Isn't that the whole point? People don't drink whiskys with a straw.

  • +2

Looks like it could hold a nice whiskey

  • +12

Oh, very nice glasses. Classy. Can't wait to drink my good Whiskey* out of these!

    • +1

Omg I had the same thoughts, imagine if its comes with a bottle of single malt 😅

  • +3

The amount of cups and clutter I had from previous cup deals i ended up throwing some away.

  • +5

The cups are always not actually great at being a cup..

  • +1

Im sure within 24 days this promotion will be unavailable

    • +1

      Why's that?

    • +1

Glass is 100% recyclable and also environmentally friendly.

      • -7

Do you think it's takes power to make glass?

        • +7

you've made 8 comments in this thread already…have you considered how much power you're wasting with your troll comments?

      • Just a heads up, most drinking glasses can't be recycled. Beer bottles and such are fine though. I'm unsure how much glass is virgin vs recycled in our day to day lives (particularly recycled back into bottles rather than things like insulation/road base). Only reason I'm pointing this out is I didn't know about it myself not that long ago and it means people may be contaminating the recycling system without realising it.

        https://carbontrack.com.au/blog/what-can-you-recycle/#:~:tex….

Not that it matters if you reuse it. As they say reduce > reuse > recycle. If you reuse the glass a few hundred times before it gets dropped, breaks it whatever it'll take up a relatively small amount of space in the garbage tip compared to the use you got out of it.

Drinking glasses, ceramics, plate glass (window panes) and oven-proof glass and pyrex cannot be recycled via your kerbside recycling services

As little as 15 grams of this non-acceptable glass per tonne can result in one tonne of valuable glass going to landfill

No one is organising specialized recycling when they break a drinking glass. It's either in the trash or in the recycling bin, in which case - you've potentially contaminated a tonne of recyclable glass and now caused it to go into land fill.

    • +3

      User name checks out.

  • +11

Bogans rejoice! The household dinnerware set can be replenished.

    • +3

Haha this is so true. We've still got drinking glasses from old Jam jars (they don't look like jars) and those terracotta bowls they sold dips in a few years back, could still be available for all I know. Then there's the classic Grolsch swing lid bottles used for cold water.

Who wants a cheesy singular McDonald's glass? I guess same people who spend their money on Lego sets and paying above RRP for PS5s

    • Me! (but I also paid rrp only for my ps5)

    • I pay RRP on a car too 😅

    • -1

      Lol

  • +10

At least they're flat this time..Previous glass were awful

    • +1

Too true. Why would they make a glass that wobbled. It baffled me. It's like let's see how we can #### with people's heads .

      • It's one kind of whiskey glass.

      • i really like it, can put drinks in it and spin them. its never fallen over despite knocking it a few times

  • Yes please!

  • What's the capacity of these?

    • +4

Even if they told you I wouldn't trust them, have you seen the size of the Big Mac.

      • +1

I'm going to make a big guess? 200mL.

      • It'll be 400ml when you buy it, yet over the years slowly dip to around 250ml, yet will still have 400ml stamped on it and swear black and blue it never changed size!

    • 350ml

  • +1

Prefer my meals to be glass free thanks

    • +2

I don't think they force you to take one.

  • +1

The HJ glasses have been better the last few years IMO.

    • +2

      HJ's are always better.

      • our tall hj one was already chippin when we inspected it at home

  • -3

    Gives me diarrhoea everytime

    • +10

yeah, you're not meant to eat the glass…

  • I prefer the previous twist glass

  • +1

they won’t give you your drink in the glass, it’s to take home …..you still get drink in paper cup with ice and the lid …..if you don’t want the glass don’t take it …..they don’t charge extra if you buy the medium meal, but they’re also don’t discount if you don’t take the glass ……… use it for whisky, use it to clean paint brushes, use it to store toothbrushes, there is always use for a free glass at home if you don’t want to buy the 6 for $10 plain glasses at kmart …..

what might be frustrating ozbargainers is how to get the free glass without buying the meal, or how to get the meal cheaper ….. a medium quarter pounder meal isn’t a bargain at full price when they have the small double beef n bacon meal for $5.95 ….

    Maccas glasses are awesome

I still have a large square scar on my hand from my last encounter with a McDonald's glass around 15 years ago - was washing the inside of it in the sink and it broke, slicing the skin over my thumb and little finger. About 1cm cubed of skin was removed and you could see bone. No one in the house had a car and I didn't think it was worth an ambulance call so I just wrapped my whole hand in dozens of layers of toilet paper and sticky tape. Very luckily I didn't get sepsis or something. Never touched a McDonald's glass again after that lol

    • +1

They are really thin and fragile.

    • I feel cold just reading this. That is horrible. Understand Ambos are expensive, you definitely shoulda gone to hospital/doctors whether in a bus or some other way but I'm glad it worked out for you without it.

Thanks for the heads up regarding the quality

    • +1

friendly reminder to get ambulance cover, it's $60~ for the whole year in Victoria

    • +1

This happened to me too but with a Bodum double walled glass. I don't think we can blame Maccas glass wear but I can imagine they are triggering for you like Bodum glasses are for me!

I couldn't be bothered calling the ambo's so just swore outloud for a few minutes with a tea towel wrapped around my hand with blood pouring out. It eventually stopped bleeding but the following months of trying not to clasp my hand was difficult.. the things I do to avoid getting stitches. And I have private health cover with ambo cover.

    I miss the Coke glasses

    Cheaper than SpecSavers!

Collectable glasses from fast food. I've never understood the need for these, but I guess each to their own.

    https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxXWKGTmkHTHjtIWSXOJyXZNQhYV2QDnZ…

    • Historically I've always found the maccas glasses to be pretty decent quality for something thrown in for free. So they're just a bit of a bonus if I'm getting fast food.

  • What is quarter pounder deluxe I can't see it in au website

  • Oh these won't rock around

  • No mention of it on their website, social media or delivery apps yet. So I wonder if it's going ahead?

    • +1

Yes it's available! They are also available to purchase separately on the MyMaccas app under condiments for $4

      • Ah I don't use that. Amusing that it's a condiment!

Sweet. Will check my local. I'm a sucker for glasses.

      • I suppose you can't just ask for one of each.

        • +1

They get them in waves (one design at a time). So you'll have to come back each week to try and get all 4. Ask your local when they are expecting the next batch

  • +2

I really liked the previous one that was shaped like a can… still use it every day!

  • +1

These glasses are ok. I've only received 3 out of my 6 meals so far. Ordering from DoorDash.
all 3 are white. I really would love blue.

I still have a big Olympic collection of Mcdonalds glasses still in their boxes for over 8 years now.

    • +1

The first wave are the clear ones. I'm assuming they will be released in this order:

      • Wave 1: 1955 Logo - Clear
      • Wave 2: 1961 Logo - Green
      • Wave 3: 1968 Logo - Red
      • Wave 4: 1996 Logo - Blue
      • When is wave 2 / 3 and 4?

        • No one knows for sure but better make sure you've caught up with your booster shots
