Hey Op could you put Melbourne in the title?
Also pricing would be helpful (is it's $33/person, so it's "save $33")
And maybe even a bit about what you actually get?
I can't work out what's n the lunch buffet…seafood, sashimi, peking duck and the Grill are excluded, so I wonder what do you actually get to eat for your money?

All you can eat Fluffy white rice and…..that's all.

I went there once for lunch. They still have lots of things too eat at lunch time. From memory: sushi, noodle, meat, curry, dumplings, congee, cakes, etc. And don't forget you can order things to be cooked in their cook to order menu too. One thing I really like is that you can pick what kind of vegetables you want to eat, and they will fry it for you.

    • What you get is anything on the regular menu (http://www.chinabarsignature.com/Menu), except what's in the "Seafood Bar" section, the sashimi (in the "Japanese Kitchen" section), and the Peking duck (in the "Chinese Banquet" section). I don't know what the "Grilled Corner" is, but I have only been to the Burwood East location.

      • Ah cheers for that, now I'm tempted!
looks like they have seafood dished, but not the plain seafood.

How do you go for drinks? is it BYO or are the beers around $5?

        • I don't think that drinks are included, but I don't really remember the prices. At least I don't remember being annoyed about it, so that's a good sign. I generally don't drink alcohol, but none of my friends complained about the prices, either. Water is free, anyway, so you can always wash your food down with that.

Also, just looking at the map for the Melbourne CBD location on their website, it shows them as being in the middle of the block rather than the corner, and on the wrong side of the street, besides. Sure, that's where Google Maps says they are, but you'd think they'd fix it for their own website.

I can recommend Chinabar Signature. I've been to the Burwood East one twice. Very good. You should checkout their website to see what is in store. The dinner is best (unlimited fresh seafood), but lunch would be good too.

  • Been there a few times for dinner and have enjoyed each time - not sure about lunch through
