    • +1

Looks like it's been ozbargained. still $268 on amazon though

    • +2

Just price matched the silver on the jb hi-fi live chat. Cheers.

  • Hmm these or AirPod pros? Been looking for a good pair of noise cancelling earphones that won’t fall out when I’m at the gym.

    • +17

The Sony WF-1000XM4 would be my choice easily.

      • Ditto on this. I’ve the XM3 headphones and Bose QC earbuds and sold my AirPods Pro cos the Pro didn’t have enough bass after listening on the Bose QC

If you’re after for music quality, get the Sony XF, otherwise AirPods Pro (my sister has the XF XM3 and I can vouch for the music quality)

        • +4

Too much bass after using a Bose product. Ha.

      • I had Bose QC earbuds, long story but I ended up not having them anymore… got a pair of the Sony WF-1000XM4 (reviews raved about them). Found there is no comparison, the Bose noise cancellation and quality was 4x better than my Sony's.

Another that is upsetting - Trying to pause the sony's with wet hands triggers a double touch - this activates voice assistant and for some unknown reason, when the voice assistant activates it beeps and that beep is at least 18 billion times louder than my music. Instead of pausing my music I go deaf…

i have the mark 3, and airpod pros and imo the airpod pros hold way better out of the box.
prob not ideal if you're doing HIIT or other jumping/fast move exercise (with the APP you can swap the airpods right to left, left to right and put them in so its wedged in the inside of your ear - works quite well if you're biking/running I found)

call quality is also fantastic on airpod pros.

      • Hmmm… just placed an order just then, not too concerned about voice quality because I still have my regular AirPods for them. I’ll test them at the gym tonight and see how it goes.

      • +8

These are the XM4s though, they are pretty different when compared to the xm3

    • +5

AirPods if iPhone, otherwise get these

    • Jabra elite actives are you want stuff that doesn't come out of your ears. Not sure how the newer ones stack up but for strenous activity Jabra Elite Actives fit really well.

I bought the WFXM3s (for $250) then bought the EA 65ts (for $100) - Sonys have better sound, Jabra kill it for fit without too much loss in sound, they also have a better mic and better noise isolation. I pretty much just use the 65ts now. I'm trying to hunt down a cheap pair of 75ts to have as a back up

      • +1

Elite 7 actives fit me really well. They also let you use the left bud independently unlike the 75t.

        • Interesting. Have you had other Jabras before and how is the sound quality?

          • +1

@Gunnar: I had the 75T actives. Only got the 7's because I lost the right bud which made the left one completely redundant. They sound very similar, which is good, perhaps a little less bass. I mostly use them for listening to audio books and podcasts so not the best person to ask for this department.

The biggest downgrade / difference I've noticed is the charging case for the 7's. Materials feel markedly cheaper / the way it opens is super awkward (especially with one hand). I don't know why they changed the design, the 75T had a really good case.

            • @Gregas: That’s great feedback, thank you!

      • So you think 75s are the go? I mainly want for gym, but honestly I only do weights.

        • I had the 75s and they were terrible. Ok they had great call quality but audio was not very good and they fell out constantly. Paid over 300 for them at release too. I've got xm4s now and they are far superior. I've got weird ear canals but those tips just grip and don't let go. Great audio too. Would buy again

      • WF-1000XM4 have really good fit……probably due to the foam like plugs, i can literally shake my head as hard as i can and they don't move

    • +3

Wow, just picked them up, super surprised with how good the quality is compared to my regular AirPods lol. Noise cancelling feels great too. Gonna have to get used to the silicone in my ears but excited to test them at the gym tonight

    • I dunno about everyone else but my xm3s will slip out of my ears with any moisture. Maybe heavily airconned gym different story

    • These are designed to be used with foam tips. They don't come with the usual rubber tips. For that reason i never got these. I can't stand foam tips. I find them a pain if you want to take the earbuds out of your ears regularly.

    • If you have an iPhone is a no brainer. If you can wait I will wait for the Airpods Pro 2

    • +2

I own both XM4 and Airpods Pro which I've been using since launch for both earbuds. I regularly use both everyday as my main earphones for my PC and switch to the other one everytime one runs out of battery after long sessions. I can tell you right off the bat that there is a definitely a subtle but noticeable difference in sound quality between the Sony and Airpods Pro, the Sony XM4 hands down definitely sounds more rich and clearer to the point where I can easily tell the difference even if you blindfolded me. However the main drawback for me is that the Sony ones are much more bulkier and heavy compared to the Airpods Pro and after a few hours you really start to feel strain and pain on your ears, the Airpods Pro however are sooo comfortable to the point where I don't even realise I'm wearing any earbuds at all. I could literally wear my Airpods Pro 24/7, I could fall asleep on my sides and still wear my Airpods Pro without realising it. That's how ergonomically comfortable they are.

  • +3

Great for noise cancelling and music
    Terrible for voice-calls
    No multipoint connectivity
Would suggest maybe the new Google Pixel Pro (never tried them)

    • Ah crap.. I already ordered

      • JB are good with returns, change of mind. As long as it's not opened. If you contact them now then might be able to cancel too. I don't believe in expensive wireless earbuds, the battery will wear out in 1-2 years and that's how they make money off you. I just got the TOZO NC7 during prime day. Cheap and does the job. https://www.amazon.com.au/TOZO-Cancelling-Detection-Headphon…

I also don't understand all the hype about noise cancelling earphones. I just pop into the Chemist and buy a pair of cheap earplugs. Noise cancelled.

        • +3

Earplugs are still expensive. I just take a dump and people run away. Noise cancelled.

        • +2

noise cancelling is useful so you can listen to your music at a lower volume in loud areas

    • Do you mean the Pixel Buds pro?

      • Woops, yep the Pixel Buds Pro
I have the Sonys, they are great, LDAC support, wear them to the gym but don't use them for calls unless in a quiet environment

    • Thanks, was wondering about call quality

    • what? Still no multi connection? Bose has that since qc35…TBH sometime the multi connect is annoying. A lot of time is really handy.

    • yea.. the reviews were not good whn it came to the mics for voice calls. what a shame.

These or Airpod Pros for plane trips?

    • +1

ANC is excellent on these especially for plane trips.

    • +1

Just be careful not to drop them whilst on the plane, that can be a nightmare.

  • -1

Sony is terrible for aftersales warranty.
Apple would be my pick over these.

    • +1

Took 11 month old pair that was acting up to JB and they changed them over on the spot. They said that was Sony's policy. Pretty on par with Apple, to be honest.

  • Would be nice if the black ones were the same price :(

  • Not sure why it says headphones, it is clearly ear buds. Got misled for a bit.

  • -1

Prices are a bit crazy these days.

Top spec phones 1k, good laptops 1k
    Earphones and headphones $250-$500 😂

Oh god, they gotta make their profit margins somewhere.

Not sure I can spend $250 on earphones, just for gym use. I guess people use them alot in other situations

    • +2

At the same time the products are getting better, while the cheaper alternatives are getting better as well.
You're really shopping for the top of the line consumer-level products with these phones/headphones.

    • +4

No one forces you to spend $250 on earphones just for gym use. $30 true wireless definitely suffices!

    • Can always just get a Koss Porta Pro for 50 on amazon uk next time on sale, not like the budget solutions are not still around.
They sell a Bluetooth version now also.

  • +3

    Have these.

Great buds. NC is insane. Bass is great as well. I use this and the xm4 at the gym for different stuff.

I think the pictures really does not do it justice as this colour is sick in person. Like an off grey. Like Camo grey or something

This is a great price and prob close to what it will be black friday sales etc with some discounted gift cards.

  • -2

I rather spend my money for Jabra or Yamaha. Still waiting for a good price on the tw-E3B. Unfortunately missed the prime day special for $75 for the black ones.

  • Can I pls have a spare code of you're not using pls?
    Thank you

  • Says it’s $350, not $250?

  • I'm getting $349, sadly didn't receive perks code this time

  • +1

Instore the white ones are still this price, just got mine at 2pm today with the code.

  • For pure audio quality, the Samsung Buds 2 are much better value. Made by AKG and hits the Harmon curve pretty well.

  • How is the noise cancelling on the flight and comfort level if wearing it for few hours?

  • +1

Bought yesterday, swapped for a black version at a different store today.
