says uses AAA battery, nice, easier than 2032 button and less hassle then rechargeable and finding a micro-USB cable.

    • the xiaomi also uses aaa
yeah i will avoid anything using button

  • Thanks Op. got one.

  • Thanks OP

  • I got one of these via JB Hi-Fi perks. Has been good but tells me I have high levels of visceral fat which I'm yet to confirm. I'm pretty lean so I don't know if it's accurate in this regard.

      I'm pretty lean

thats why everyone says…. photo please or you are not~~~

      kidding :)

      • Hmm, maybe you're right. Just checked my BMI - 23.3 which is upper end of healthy. I thought I was borderline underweight.

        • Visceral fat is one of those weird ones you can't see, and is a problem in males especially as they get older. Could be one to watch.

          • @Droz: A measuring tape around the waist seems a bit rudimentary. There must be a more accurate assessment. I'm sceptical that scales are the answer.

    • these apps, like "smart" watche apps, don't know shit with regards to "viceral fat", sleep patterns, BMI or so called obesity (etc etc). Whose stats are they drawing reference data sets from? Likely Chinese - may be ok if you're Chinese but if you're not you may need a more suitable reference data set - one size does not fit all.

      • BMI is a pretty simple calculation, no?

Sleep patterns are pretty easily measurable.

Don't know about visceral fat, but I imagine that's determined by the time current passes through your body.

  • Does this (or any others) link in nicely with apple health data? I used to use a Fitbit aria and had to buy a third party app to sync data.

EDIT: Found a review which said it syncs nicely to Apple Health. But as I went to order it on Amazon, can't find the voucher checkbox :(

I doubt a pair of scales can calculate body fat percentage with much accuracy
