Just noticed that my headset mic is crackling when I test it. I’ve tested my 3D pulse headset and a set of 3.5mm Rig 400 and it’s doing it on both
If I talk normal it’s fine just it I get louder or laugh it starts to crackle up / distort which it has never done before as I stream and upload YouTube clips etc
This issue started since the latest ps5 update going by my videos I have made and watched back.
Anyone able to help / test theirs?
If your mic isn't 15 years old and halfway down your throat, you don't deserve your console licence.

If these are wired headsets you’re using, it could be a faulty headphone jack. It’s a seemingly-common problem with the latest generation of DualSense controllers. See this YouTube video for details (https://youtu.be/gXyNlGFtezo).
When I returned a defective DualSense for that reason, the salesperson at JB Hifi kindly opened 4 fresh controllers (white, black, pink and purple) and they all had the same issue straight out of the box. I waited 2 months to get a replacement in the hope it was just a faulty batch, but the blue one I eventually bought has the exact same issue. I haven’t had time to chase it up with Sony, but their lax quality control is unacceptable IMHO.

I normally use the wireless 3D pulse ps5 headset and then I tested a wired rig 400 and they both do it in the mic settings on the ps5
It’s just strange it’s never done this before and even when I lower it in settings and laugh or talk loader then normal it crackles / distorts
Ever since the latest update
Given we had a console and a controller update about a week ago, I would not be surprised if they broke something, but my cheap and cheerful coolermaster headset is still working as well as it ever did.
Everything still works just that the mic has gone crackly when I speak louder which it never did before and it’s bugging the crap out of me
In regards to this I did a voice chat over the PS5 with my mate who has a PS5 too. He said he could hear the crackle when I spoke louder to him or laughed then he did it and I could hear him crackling too.
He tested this in the microphone settings menu

And he reported back to me that his mic was crackling too when laughing or speaking a bit louder or outbursts which it’s never done before
It’s never done this before the latest up date.
Maybe its your voice..
