    $12 for two whoppers !!!

How is that a bargain ?

    • +1

      $7.55 individually or $15.10 for 2. 🙄

      • +9

I used to buy all the time when 2 Whoppers were $6.00.
        I'm a lot skinnier now.

        • +2

price has doubled in the last few years…

          • +2

            @jv: In 2017 two whoppers was $6.95 so it's been a while.

        • +3

Wanna come round for steamed hams?

      • +1

I'm pretty sure last time i got some they were $9.95, so this is a 20% price increase, not a bargain.

        • Still cheaper if you are desperate. Just got 2 for $11.95.

    • +6

Great price considering it’ll probably be $18 for 2 next year haha

    • The real bargain is Burger King Corporation's profits, probably.

      • +1

You mean Jack Cowin— he's the master franchiser for HJs in Australia. Pretty sure he got the good deal and BK corp got the bum deal because they tried to stop HJ's way back when— remember when there was a rebranded to BK? That was BK corp trying to get back market share in Australia and wrestle it away from HJs, but they lost their court case and now only HJs can exist. But Jack Cowin (an Australian-Canadian entrepreneur) owns both that and KFC in Aus.

Whilst BK corp is the franchisor, I'm not sure how much profit they would make as they 'only provide administrator and advertising support' according to the wiki. Some, I'm sure, but not as much as Jack Cowin, who is worth like 1.80b.

I prefer $1 for 1 whopper on my birthday! Even then I usually regret eating it.

      • They've always been free for me. Did they change to $1 in the last few months?

        • I may have been getting confused with the $1 minimum order in the app!

    • +2

      2 Whoppers on a voucher…the real inflation index…

These vouchers actually inspired me to go back to a burger with the lot from a local fish n chip shop.

So thanks for the memories HJs…

      • +1

Obviously you don't eat McDonalds… or you would have returned a lot sooner, lol.

        • +2

Haven't eaten McDonalds since 2009. Its not even food! Sundae, Coffee, egg n bacon muffin…maybe… other than that…pass.

    RIP bacon deluxe :(

    • Omg where is it

      • Where is the bacon deluxe, is it safe?

A few years ago we'd buy HJ a couple of times a week. Back when they had reasonable vouchers like the two junior whoppers for $5 or two whoppers for $8. These days you're paying nearly as much for HJ as you would for a premium burger elsewhere, with high quality ingredients from a real restaurant. I accepted the lower quality product because the price was a fraction of what you'd pay for 'real' food.

But these days for the sake of a marginal saving it's hardly worthwhile. Keep your vouchers and your low grade barely-food and your incompetent service from staff who somehow managed to screw up making a sandwich a full quarter of the time. I won't be back.

    • +2

HJ's should just stop issuing vouchers effective immediately.

Maccas are doing $3 big macs today.

      • Yeah but a big mac is now basically the size of an average cheeseburger anywhere else.

    • you're paying nearly as much for HJ as you would for a premium burger elsewhere, with high quality ingredients from a real restaurant

And where's that real restaurant with fresh, premium burgers again?

Hope they're not talking about Grill'd because apart from being kinda meh, I'm pretty sure their patties have fillers, at least they taste like it to me — In fact, in trying to find out if their patties are 100% beef I noticed their whole website is basically fancy graphics on the nutrition page with things like '100% Australian First' and claims about health. Even on their online menu it says '100% Australian grass-fed, free-range beef patties'— Does that mean it's 100% beef, or 100% Australian grass fed? No where does it say '100% beef' in that order, it's all '100% Australian' which makes me think that if it were 100% beef, they would advertise it better, right? Why's it so hard to find out if the patties are 100% beef? IDK.

Both HJs and Maccas, as crap as they are, say '100% beef' and '100% Australian beef' on their Whopper Page and their Big Mac/Beef pages and it took me like two seconds to find that out. I know that legally even '100% beef' has fillers like fat, etc, but I'm pretty sure legally you need to be able to prove you have a certain % to be able to label your meat like that, which I think McDs and HJs did.

        • +1

They're not talking Grill'd, because the cheapest burger at Grill'd is twice the price of a Whopper.

But given that comment has so many upvotes, there must be a place with a great quality $10 burgers.

Hungry jacks is history the prices are ridiculous.

      Hungry Price Jacks ?

  • +3

    Thank you for sharing OP

Jack has hit hard, the prices are whoppers, and the serving size have been shrinking too #shrinkflation hitting hard :/

  • +2

Cost of beef has gone up a lot even in supermarket …..hence more chicken items at Macca's and HJ …. Way makes it worse ara lack of deals with burger fries drink …….

    • +1

Cost of beef has gone up a lot even in supermarket

They can deal with less customers then… I won't be using these vouchers…

  • +3

Used their app with shake and win. Scored a $4 whopper( had no idea how much they usually are) was surprised at how big and tasty it was.

  • +6

No more bacon deluxe, no more whopper meals, just plants, soon will be insect menu.

P.S Don't be stupid people about fake and fabricated "world" crisis and inflation. We've just been taken for a ride, can't even remember which time again.

    • Yep taken for a ride- corporate profits are getting higher.

  • +5

    20 cents more

    Death by 1000 cuts

    • If they had 1000 cuts the prices would be fine.

  • +3

Wow take a look at the chicken royale picture meal on the 2nd page, they've blown it up so large it won't fit in the little box they've allocated it. That's a really piss poor layout design or maybe that's their way of trying to justify the hungry jacked prices… Lol

  • +1

Does anyone else's HJ forget part of your order everytime?
In the last few weeks I've had them give me only 1 burger when I ordered the 2 whoppers. Then next time they didn't give me any of the drinks with my order.
I've stopped going through the drive thru because its easier to check and get it fixed at the counter.

    • I ordered breakfast the other week using the 2x brekky wrap, and they only gave me half the filling, so i demanded a full refund. will never go to HJs again.

      • Surprised they didn't try to offer you half refund

  • +1

When Carl's Jr opened I looked at it as a more expensive but fresher tasting Hungry Jacks. It's almost to the point that Carl's Jr will be a fresher tasting and cheaper Hungry Jacks.

  • +1

A bit off topic but anyone noticed the shrinkflation happening at KFC?? I feel like the burgers have gotten noticeable smaller in the last few months.

    • 100% agree. I havent stopped at a KFC for several years(other than to use the restroom- haha!).

Better off buying from local joints now- no more bargains due to inflation.

    • Again!?

Always get the zinger. They usually seem larger for some reason.

  • +3

Sweet Jesus, these vouchers are laughably bad.

  • waste of time. i havent shopped at hungry jacks much since 2017. Prices have doubled since then. Only stop at my local independent joints, better serving size and better meals for similar prices.

    • Nice.

I'm still waiting for a single example of a spot offering such meals at similar price, as people declare they know such places, but never point to anything particular.

Your local independent joints sounds very promising. Care to share?

just a head up for people visit hj in the morning. reminder this old deal is surprisingly still on the shake win app.

it come totally unexpected that I randomly shake a FREE jack brekky roll on 2nd attempt. not the healthy stuff you should eat always but good at least still there eat one out of the blue

  • Are the bbq brekky wraps reasonably filling?
