This flashlight was extremely popular last month and now Newlight have it for an even lower price with the coupon for Black Friday.

Like the previous deal a 18650 battery comes included. It has a P9 LED with 1200 lumens, 6 light modes (high/medium/low/eco/strobe/sos), USB-C recharging, and IP68 water resistance.

I use mine when exploring underground and it's a really good performer. It's very bright and can shine light up to some fair distances.

Price History at C CamelCamelCamel.
This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2022

Definitely not a historically low price, but still a fairly good price for an awesome torch. I've got two of them and looking to buy another one for the car when they are cheaper.

    • Worth waiting for $5

      • Why would it go that low?

        • +1

Wuben (on Amazon) often have this on sale with decent discount coupons bringing it down to <$24

        • +4

I think Bearlion is saying is it worth waiting to save another $5. Not is it worth waiting for it to be $5.

      • +1

Yeah, why not? :-) BF/CM hasn't officially started yet, and it's not urgent as I have a Nitecore in the car for the time being.

Great torch. I have 2, but 2 late to explore the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Underground_(1995_film) which won the Palme d'Or at the 1995 Cannes Film Festival.

Do you know if this charges with a USBC to USBC cable?

      • I just plugged mine into my Pixel 4XL, and the torch was charging off the phone, not the other way around.

I’m not wearing my glasses and read “women’s rechargeable fleshlight” and thought that’s new…

    Whats the battery life like?

    • +1

pretty good actually, both in terms of useage, and storage.

i forgot i left one of them in my car glove box and needed one the other day, didnt use it for probably 3 months, sill had charge.
you can also lower the output too if you want it to go longer. i usually use medium brightness.

Do I need a flashlight brighter than the sun - No.
Did I buy one - Yes.

Bloody hell another torch to the collection
    Thanks Op

1200 Lumens seems limited to 1 minute, then drops to 500 Lumens

    • Probably better that than your burning your hand from the ~10W of LED (so about 7W of heat at the head).

    • Yes good point,my son has the previous model which stays at 1200 but never feels too hot. Feel like this is a downgrade although it's usbc

  • Can you configure these at all?

I'm interested in some small torches, but would prefer to get rid of gimmick strobe modes.

    • It says strobe and SOS are special modes, so probably something like a triple click to access them. I doubt it's configurable.

    • +1

Saw a comment on Reddit from someone who uses it on their bike.
They mentioned they had made and flashed a custom firmware.

    • Double tap for strobe mode, triple tap for SOS mode. I've found this only a problem when I switch through the ordinary power modes too quickly (single taps).

  • Xmas present for the brother-in-law sorted

  • Didn't need one. Bought it due to the comments (damn this OzB community). Thanks OP

  • Bought 2, thanks OP!

On mine battery died shortly after i received it. Last time i posted, other users confirmed having the same problem.

    • Did you buy from Amazon or Hekka ?

      • Bought from Hekka

  • I don't have this, but personally I don't like wide angle torches, they blind you from seeing anything in the distance. this sort of wide angle is good for head lamps where you're only interested in well illuminating what's directly in front of you.

    • Just realise they started selling the Wuben X-0 at Amazon AU

I asked them about it back in September and they said they would get back to me (never received a response).

      • Just waiting for AUD to USD climb back up then the the trigger button.

        • Agreed, current 'sale' price still too high for me to pull the trigger.

          • @RichardL: 15% cashback tomorrow makes it a little enticing.

Why is this a lot more popular than the Sofirn SC31 Pro deal posted yesterday which seem to have similar specs (USB C fast charging, water resistant, 18650 battery etc..) but has a 2000 lumen SST40 LED.
Is the Osram P9 LED a lot better or more power efficient than the SST40 ? is Wuben better known brand than Sofirn ? or is its the $7 price difference ??

If you look at the Wuben C3 body, there are many spirals on the tube. Each spiral is a step. It takes many more steps and machining time. Also the complicated slots and on the head and tailcap.

The Sofirn is a popular budget brand but the diamond knurling on the tube is very simple few step process. Chuck up the tube, turn to right diameter, change to knurling tool, then run the knurling tool along the body length. End results? Look and feel very cheap.

Next compare the pocket clip between the two. The Wuben stands out again in terms of looks and design. So in terms of machining, the Wuben C3 is more costly.

However, I prefer Sofirn button switch to the Wuben tailcap switch. It's more natural handling.

lord in heaven this guy knows his obscure torch manufacturing processes

  • Did people receive theirs yet?

I ordered mine the day the deal was posted and still haven’t gotten anything yet.

Delivery just keeps getting pushed out by Amazon.

FYI all I tested the battery after my first charge and it was overcharged to 4.28V so watch out when using the built in charger, not good.

    • I suggest a good external charger avoid the built in charger. If you don't want to claim insurance for house fire.
