Op, I think what they meant to say was "price in title please"

As always, a reminder that this will not record and store videos unless you have an active paid subscription.

  • Obligated psa ring needs subscription for full functionality

  • Anyone got one of these? i'm tempted but I have all Google products at home, so i'm guessing they won't work great together?

    • If your doorbell/ other cameras are already on google then don't bother with this.

      • well i meant more that i have a few Nest Home devices, no other cameras. But i like the idea that the doorbell for e.g shows up on the screen when someone rings.

That being said, i guess you don't really need the outdoor security camera up on your Nest Home

        • The Ring system doesn't integrate that well with google Nest (I have that set up). I think with some update and apps you can view on Nest but you can't control the functions from it. I do like the floodlight the most among all the security cameras i have. In hindsight i'd have gotten a floodlight camera first over a doorbell camera.

    • Stick to one, don't mismatch.
I had both google and ring, for me Ring is way better but a little more expensive.

  • Please note this ones need to be hardwired and you may need an electrician to help with that. I got mine with Optus on a sale last time that included "free" installation. I think Telstra offers that as well.

    • Wait they hardwire it for you for free? That would be great unless there is a catch where it is more expensive or have to sign up to something

Ive got one of this. It died after a month. RMA was quick and easy - but its the cost of another electrician to replace. Bugga

A fair few google results regarding the same problem.

The subscription is a meh but its effortless so probably worth it. Saving video from a security camera requires some solution anyways.

The other option would be the battery cameras and the solar panel.

    • What was the same issue?

      Did it just die?

How long has the replacement one been working for now?

      • +1

Yeah, the unit just dies and won't turn on.

RMA was super quick, only a few days. New one hasn't gone up yet, my sparky is busy.

        • Interesting.. May have been a lemon..

I have two of the original floodlight cam, been running for 4 years straight flawlessly

  • Does it connect over WiFi or needs a cable/PoE? The wired term is a bit confusing.

    • Powered by wire as opposed to battery but connected via wi-fi.

  • Birds eye view?

  • You can also pricematch at bunnings. If you have powerpass its $251.10
