how does this compare against the dysons?

    • Miele tends to specialize in corded, bagged vacuums with fantastic suction and quality. On the other hand, Dyson points towards more convenience with washable filters and bagless dust bins. This is what it came up with hope it helps :)

      • It?

        • +1

          google

          • +1

@yessirboy: Chat GPT put it on par with the Dyson V12 and suggested going for the cheaper option.

    • found this review https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPEWTKaboeU
which seems to picture it favorably. It does have a problem with hair getting wound around the brush, has a problem with picking up larger debris with the usual brush head, and removing the bin seems to be unnecessarily complicated… pros are that you can adjust the vacuum such that the center of gravity is lower down, the suction at low power is better than a lot of dysons, and high power suction is roughly on par with dysons as well.

  • HX1 isnt good, HX2 is better

    • +5

HX2 is so 2023. You need to get the HX3.

I tried this miele in godfrey's, it was pretty nice in that you can configure the bulk of the weight at the bottom half of it. In terms of suction it seemed fine, but I think like all cordless, you really need to be operating them at max power for it to be effective, unless you're really just dealing with nice flat surface floor boards or tiles.

Can I just say that after buying a shark vac I have now ditched the Dyson. Legit best vac I’ve ever owned

    • +1

which shark vac, and which dyson did it replace?

      • Shark vac corded. NZ801

Use stick vacs for dust busting. But the shark trumps all

      • I've had my Shark NV800 for 5 years and have bought spares several times. Both genuine and non genuine.
Absolutely no issue buying spares through Shark, Amazon or eBay.

        • Having to buy several spare parts in 5 years doesn't sound good.

          • +1

@Elyxar: You don’t change your filters and rollers after 5 years?

            They are consumable parts.

    • Shark NV800 owner here.
I was in Costco 4-5 years ago and it was on special. I did some in store google fu and the reviews were HIGHLY positive so bought it on a whim and to date its still one of my favourite purchases.

We still use our stick vacuum for minor cleaning but the Shark is really an excellent vacuum. Our old Miele is relegated to my office now.

Shark deserves to have a better market share here, you pretty much see them everywhere in the USA.

      • Curious to know more about your experience.

What is the floor composition of your house? More carpet, hard, 50/50??

Honestly, what cons does it have? Could be anything, weight, dust bin sucks, handle is uncomfortable etc etc

        • Carpet, timber & tile 40/30/30

          No major cons.
Maybe dustbin is a little on the smaller side and the fact I need to clean my wife's hair from the rollers every month but other than that its excellent and a joy to use.

Based on this write up I’d get it (and I currently own a Dyson v10)
    https://www.designerappliances.com/blog/miele-vs-dyson-cordl…

  • Is this any better than the Dyson v8 that I own? They cost about the same

  • Damn. Would definitely get this if I didn't bought the V10 from Black Friday last year

I have the version that came with two batheries. Was great until one of the batteries died which was meant we couldn't do the whole house on both batteries.

I don't mind it as a stick vacuum, is definately heavier than most Dyson's, but sucks well, you don't have to hold the button down the whole time, run it regularly on the middle power setting not high so get a reasonable amount of time out of it.

Had an issue with the rollar but I expect that is related to the amount of long female hair in my house that any vacuum would struggle with.

    • +1

Takes you 240 minutes to do the whole house?

      • +1

From the Amazon page: "… a run time of up to 120 minutes. Applies to the Triflex HX1 Performance on power setting 1 without electrobrush Multi Floor XXL attached with the use of two batteries"

Cheeky marketing: the 120 min runtime is the total of 2 batteries. Also on the low setting. Also without a head attached. 😅

Gonna assume that the 2 batteries on medium with heads attached will get you a total of something like 40 minutes.

        • That really is misleading!

        • Also never start with two fully charged batteries, would only put a battery on to charge when it was flat so often would be working on 1.5 battery charges to vac the house, hence why one for me was not quite enough.

          • @Seaman Jones: Oh that's a great point too. Did you find you ever ran out of juice from both batteries before you completed the job?
Running out of juice was my only concern about handheld vacs, so I ended up getting an upright Shark vac (coming tomorrow). I am the low risk, low reward personality type 😂

  • Had this since it came out. Way better than the dyson.

Main pro is that the filter doesn’t smell unlike dyson.

    • How is it in upright configuration?

      • Very easy to use, find it a lot easier to use than the Dyson V15, especially with the different configurations.

  • Good deal but not great reviews…difficult to decide if it's worth the risk to switch from a Dyson V10, which I've never loved and which also has its niggles (but also has undeniably great suction and particularly good performance on shaggy rugs, but not so much on hard floors).

Listing states "‎Additional Charger, Dusting Brush, Mattress Tool, Addittional Battery, Mini Electrobrush via redemption"

Anyone know if the redemption is still active? And/or have a link?

    • Mini electrobrush can still be redeemed. Mine from this deal just arrived and I was able to redeem it.

      • Do you have a link to the redemption page?

  • Is this more for carpet or hard wood floors? Or both?

  • Im thinking of returning this for the hx2 basic model.

60% more suction and easier clean filter.
