Slitherine churn out these games faster than an EA sports franchise. They have 100+ titles and can afford the occasional freebie.

They publish for a lot of small team/one man indies so that's why it appears like they're churning out games. I don't think a lot of them are their own studios though.
It would be so easy to throw a keylogger or something into these shovelware games. It's not like Valve can really check.
@Diji: Not this one specifically, just thinking about the publisher who puts out so many, and so many others.
@CodeExplode: Reminds me of the random browser extensions which people could download off the web store but had keyloggers in them
Likely offered free with the intent that some free recipients will buy some (of the 5) DLC's
Possibly to drum up interest in the upcoming Field of Glory: Kingdoms game?
Maybe trying to reel people in before announcing a sequel since the final DLC was released this year. Field of Glory Kingdoms is also coming out but that's a grand strategy game.
