  • Pocket pets :)

    • What pocket pets are on offer? Surprising the kittens and puppies don't count but I guess they haven't seen the size of my pockets

      • +1

        fee-free adoptions for smaller pets including rabbits and guinea pigs

      • @SpainKing generally kittens and puppys aren't cheap because they are more likely to be dumped back at a shelter once they pass their "cute" stage and get bigger

    How is adopting pet a deal? Once you adopt, it will cost you even further lol

      Its cheaper than a pet store.
      Its a cheap way to do a very good thing.
      I do know you were joking so countered one of your negs.

        The pet community here is too weak to handle such jokes! Same as vegetarians community :p

        • stop posting forever

    • I can't even sit in my own house without the cat sitting on me. He'll sit there for hours at the time, like holy shit cat give it a rest.

    • Only if it’s the kind of dog you feed EVERY day!

      I don't know why you're being downvoted. I agree.

      I love animals but if you need to save money when buying an animal, chances are you can't afford it.

      Hopefully people taking up this "bargain" are actually doing it to help an animal, not just save some money on the intial cost…

      Yeah I had a similar experience with a car, I got it for on sale but now I have to pay for petrol for the rest of it's life, where's the "deal" in that??!!

  • +7

    Dogs available are almost always uniformly of a breed that is dangerous.

    • The number of people mauled by certain dogs lately is terrifying

      • Kids are the easy targets found in videos from countries that have no/ineffective rules for dogs.

    A kind reminder that adopting a pet isn't just a short term commitment - ideally it should be for the life of the pet :}

      ideally it should be for the life of the pet :}

      And its not cheap so it's not a deal

      I can feed 1 pet, but can't afford the vet extortion bills

      • Funny enough, here in Outback QLD it is actually waaay cheaper than your city vets. Not a clue why.

    • Oh I didn't know that!

    • Sorry for your loss. Very tough when they go.

  • Pet Haven is amazing. Adopted our kitty from there and the support given is great!
