    • Ah cool thanks!

    • Still available even though OOS @amazon

  • Are they fast enough for everyday use? Expandable storage?

    • Define everday use?
Normal web browsing and streaming then yes it is fast enough. I am not sure about gaming.

Yes, it does have expandable storage.

    • What's 'fast' to you? In my opinion it is not extremely snappy but its fine to use for movies and webrowsing etc. Light games are fine too (I play yugioh on it).

Never had the device personally but it seems to perform ok according to these tests

Perfectly fine for anything except more serious gaming. It's not snappy but it is good enough. That's kind of this tablet in a nut shell: fine, decent, adequate, etc

Amex currently have $30 cashback when spending over $200 at JB.
I got them to price match so works out to be $237 after cashback with Amex.

  • Not listed on Amazon but 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA)

    • Its a fine tablet for its purpose but the colours struggle IMO. I sold mine on because i found it depressing to use compared to a more vibrant phone screen.

      • Thats why I have no intention of replacing my tab S5e anytime soon. Still has a nice oled screen. Samsung stop offering oled screens on their lower tier models after that model. It's a shame because you don't really need the most powerful chip in the world for multimedia consumption, browsing the net and playing many games.

  • Decent tablet, i have the A7 and A8. The new A8 works great for streaming videos, increased ram and battery life is awesome. Cant go wrong for that price. It also recieves monthly updates from samsung

  • Redmi pad with better specs and screen.

Have one. It's fine for what I use it for Email, browsing, light gaming (have never tried bigger/heavier gaming as I have a PC for that) It does what I need it to do without any problems. Only thing is slow to boot up after a reboot or turned off /on

  • Looking at this one or the Lenovo Tab M10 Plus for around $250 on eBay. The Lenovo screen looked nicer in person and seemed a bit snappier when I had a look in HN the other day.

    • The $208 deal on M10 last month was a winner I should have grabbed it.

  • This or something else at sub $300 price point?

    • +1

If you can wait for a deal for the S6 Lite it's a much much better tablet

Edit: sorry I missed the "sub" in sub 300. I'd say this is your best bet

  • How long would Samsung support the upgrade? Probably 3 years the most.

  • +1

One of the main disadvantages of Samsung is they flood your internal memory with their undeletable in house apps and effectively make it unusable.

  • OOS 😪
