  • How does this compare to Motorola Neo30?

    • Check the previous post

  • Damn, should have gotten this deal for the moto. Although I guess including shipipng, it technically costs the same.

give it me with AMOLED and i buy

    • -1

Add a few 100s more and then you buy

    • +1

Give me dual physical SIM and I'll buy

      • -1

Exactly…but I think, the eSIM is a way to link the phone number to the hardware,
and also this will have implications for unlocking bootloaders (or not).

  • Still waiting for the G53 EOL deal to drop…

You really want that 720p screen?

Hoping to see a detailed camera comparison soon as that's what's holding me back from buying one.

239 with free shipping from Lenovo Educational store. For some reason it is not appearing in search, but available in Sales section

Unfortunately the BOM of many decent phones will be greater than that.

    • No phone perhaps but these devices are no longer phones.

They're the swiss army knife of the digital age.

While individual tools are generally better, having them all in one device is handy and unlike the swiss army knife the sum generally ends up greater than the parts because the different parts combine to create new functionality. A $250 dollar phone can do most things but its not in the interest of the manufacturers to give you everything or have it do it too well.

The cost of these things isn't in the components its R&D and maintenance. The first thing that get cut is maintenance. That is why Apple is the top of the heap and why they put a floor on their prices.

the edge is half its new price because half of its support life has been used. prepaid phones are past their expiration date. Doesn't mean they can't be used but there is no guarantee how long they will be useful.

    • Stupidest comment of all time. Why don't you try to make a phone and sell it for $19?

  • Orders kept getting cancelled. OOS?

Just ordered for clickncollect - got order confirmation email.
5min later ready for collection email came thru.

    This or Oppo A78 4G?

  • G54 $239 on Lenovo Education Site!

  • Would this be a good upgrade for parent using Moto G5 Plus from 2019?

  • I guess if G54 camera quality will be bad?

    • -1

I just went into a JB and checked out the display model. The camera is "average" quality at best. Extremely aggressive image sharpening highlights the noise pretty badly. It's not as good as my old LG V30 so it's a no from me dawg

  • What's better? This phone or the Samsung Galaxy A14 5g for the same price?

    • +1

This one is faster (because of better Processor and more RAM)than Galaxy A14 . But Samsung will have better resell value after 1 year.

  • Does anyone have a recommendation for a tempered glass screen protector?

    Thanks

  • My anecdotal camera comparison from inside jb hifi is that the camera is not very good. Not an upgrade from my LG v30. Very aggressive image sharpening and noise. The TCL 20 Pro I just received isn't perfect but the camera is about the same or perhaps slightly better, and has qi wireless charging (the moto does not). Looks like the tcl 20 Pro is the only "upgrade" from an LG v30 at the moment. Sad
