Pulled the trigger on this deal pretty much instantly, replacing my Razer Blade 2020 15", which has had four repairs, three for battery bloat one for a defective fan. Just thought I'd share that yes they have issues, but I love the design, sleekness and overall product.

Legion 4070 during cashback was better. It is 3080 ti, just extremely overpriced razer trying to dump their leftovers. Good for razer fans though

    • but bad for Razer's famous battery bloat!

So you've had more than 1 defect per year and you're jumping straight back into Razer?
That is some brand loyalty my friend

The definition of a fool is someone who does the same thing over and over again expecting different results

    • They enjoy the smoother cut of the Razer Blade & more irritation.

    Wowza!

I must be lucky - I bought my Razer Blade (different model to yours) from this deal and it's been running perfectly, with no issues at all. I've bought a Dbrand skin to hide the hideous backlit green logo but that's it in terms of mods.

I used to hate Razer, as their products are way overpriced and too gamer-y for my liking (I am far from being a Razer fan, is my point, but a bargain is a bargain and I needed wanted a laptop for my 'university studies').

I have had it occasionally running 24/7 for weeks at a time and it hasn't skipped a beat. I do keep it on a laptop arm above my work laptop so that it gets plenty of ventilation, and I keep the screen shut as it's plugged into my dock with dual monitors. I find having the screen shut is a huge benefit in terms of cooling, and this applies to all laptops that I have used (personal and work, including Surface Pros).

  • The Blade 17 is actually an impressive laptop, despite Razer's reputation. This model has a 165W RTX 3080 Ti 16GB GPU and a triple-fan vapor chamber design, with one fan placed between the batteries to minimise the risk of battery bloat—a concern in the Blade 15.

It also has a 500nit 4K 144 Hz 100% DCI-P3 PWM-free display. The CNC aluminium chassis and larger keycaps give it an overall premium build and user experience.

Take a look at the notebookcheck review. I think this is a good buy at this price point.

  • Would’ve been awesome if it was a QHD 1440p display. Imo 4k is an overkill for a 17” display.

Also I doubt it is going to get 60+ fps in the 4K native resolution in most demanding games, and you’d be using QHD for fps in most multiplayer games anyways.

If I wanted the 4K res for a specific game (likely well optimised single player rpg) then I’d just plug this into my larger 4K external monitor.
When I need fps then I’d use the built in QHD laptop monitor.

The RTX 3080 Ti now runs at 175W - Razer has issued a VBIOS update that boosts the max TGP by 10W (165W -> 175W) on Blade 17 models.

  • This reminds me of the Dell XPS 1730. Major graphics card issues but an absolute beast, not to mention the weight. Someone I know bought a new computer, good specs, almost 10 years later and it was out performing their not cheap Dell, again, graphics cards problem included. Worst still, would not fit another graphics card other than the screwed up ones, so no fix there. I understand the feeling
