AliExpress Order Missing after Handed to Australia Post

Hey OzBargainers,

I recently ordered some Convoy flashlights from the official store in AliExpress and the last update in tracking by AliExpress Global Shipping is

Carrier note: Awaiting collection at <MY SUBURB> POST SHOP

I did not receive any tracking number in my email like I usually do with AliExpress orders, so I can't contact Australia Post because they can't do anything without the tracking number. I have also tried coming into the mentioned post office but they said they don't have any parcels under my name/phone/address to be collected.

Has anyone got similar experience with AliExpress and Auspost? Any help would be appreciated!

Someone asked me about this yesterday. There's 2 tracking numbers assigned and it should most certainly be at that post office - it was for them. https://17track.net/en usually provides more accurate tracking.

Perhaps calling Auspost? They can track it down.

    • Thing is I did not receive any tracking number from Auspost, and I've tried calling them but they said they can't do anything without the tracking number of my parcel in Auspost. I currently only have the tracking number from AliExpress and I guess it doesn't mean anything to Auspost.

Usually I get an email notifying me of the tracking number given by Auspost the moment it is handed over to them. This time, no emails whatsover.

How many LPO or Auspost branches are there at Kingsford NSW? Might be worth visiting them all…

        • Was going to say the same thing!

        • Only one that I know of, and tracking shows that it is being delivered by Auspost so not by any other local delivery service.

    • Thanks for sharing that link. I was getting a bit worried tracking a high value item via Cainiano that hasn't had an update since landing at Melbourne, but your link has a further update "transferred to last mile" in it, which gives me confidence it's not lost, yet 🤞

Strange a 3rd party will be more updated than the home brand, but hey it works…

Same thing happened to my jewel coolers for the car.

    • Did you end up receiving yours?

  • Wait another 5 days before panicking. Or PM me your AliExpress tracking number and I might be able to convert it to an Australia Post tracking number.

    • Will do, thanks for your kind help!

  • Try your tracking number here. I find this usually the most accurate unless you select Cainiao as your shipping method. https://smartparcel.gotoubi.com/

    • Oh and this one should give you the AusPost tracking number under “Next tracking numbers”

      https://parcelsapp.com/en/carriers/china-post

    • I did not get to select my own shipping method and I think the default free shipping method from aliexpress uses Cainiao. Just tried your website and couldn't get any details from it.

  • Ive had packages go missing when they put on different shipping label when it arrives in Aus. They slap on an address that doesnt exist. Auspost calls my number and redirects for me. Very odd

  • I don't know why you're panicking if you don't receive it after the waiting period you apply for a refund and can repurchase it. Sometimes they'll turn up after your refund and you winx2.

  • quick!

    it is a fed issue!

  • I’ve had the same issue.

Tracker shows it being taken to the LPO, where it sat for a month without notifying me. It then got ‘signed for’, so AliExpress refused a refund.

One of the trackers even showed it being redirected to NSW instead of VIC.

The tracking number isn’t an AusPost one, so they don’t want to know me.

Yeh, I had that once. It's lost for good by AusPost and AliExpress refused the refund. I think it was because the label with the address was too small or the print had rubbed off.

      • Yeah I’ve just had it refunded via PayPal.

Unfortunately it was refunded to a closed credit card. So now that’s a whole new fight for $50.

  • hey mate did it work out?

    • Hey, yeah turns out a paper collection card was in my postbox after all containing the tracking number which was weirdly under my name, phone number and address when I tracked it online. Post office person must have been too quick in concluding there was no parcels under my name, phone no. and address.

  • I had the same issue no tracking number for auspost and this site gave me a auspost tracking no https://postal.ninja/en

    • I just wanted to say thank you - I'm having the same problem with a relatively expensive item from AE. Says it's at the post office, but they cannot find it anywhere. At least I have a tracking number for AusPost to escalate the process if needed.
