Food can be placed on the pot cover to drip water first.

Where does it drip? Surely not into the oil, right?

    • +2

It will drip back into the pot of oil!, I think they meant dripping the excess oil once the item is fried.

  • big decision here is stove top deep fryer and risk of house fire, or get an electric one with a thermostat. I have electric with thermostat.

    • Any suggestions?

stove top deep fryer and risk of house fire

Why? I think a lot of people deep fry at their stove.

    • +2

I prefer a stovetop deep fryer because it takes less storage space. I'd never leave any fryer unattended at any time. I also use a laser thermometer. This one has a built-in thermometer. However, an electric one is easier to use.

    • Why is there a risk of a house fire to begin with? How did you fry on the stove top?

    • Oh my goodness, THE CHIPS!

    • Really? Do you also cook your bacon, eggs, vegetables etc on some electric device to avoid the risk of house fire?

  • Bought the smaller one. Don't know why, I don't deep fry much. But I will now! Any deals on Mars Bars?!
