  • what? $89 off??? what??

    • He means there's no joining fee for today. Nothing on the website, we just have to take his word for it.

  • are they good? like coz its unmanaged how would they know if machines needs service/ gym too crowded etc?

    • The gyms are have staffed hours. Generally between the hours of 11am-7pm weekdays and like 10am - 2pm on weekends. During these times you can get help, have a PT session or do a class.

I thought today is 20th and the advertisement shows 27th..am i missing something?

  • Is it today or next Saturday ?

  • +1

you wrote 9qm instead of 9am in the title

  • Clearly its the 27th right? i think you may have your days mixed up.

I have confirmed with my local Jetts and its 27th..next Saturday..the normal joining fees is $99..they would be giving $89 off on this..$10 would be donated to heart foundation..

  • akula, this is not a free fitness memebership. See below: You could win a free 12 month membership.

Drop by our Open Heart Day and you could win a free 12 month membership.

  • Access pass is $59. So looks like $69 upfront payment to be a member with $23.90 a fortnight in fees.
Not that good of a deal considering my local Jetts is one of the worst equipped gyms i've ever seen.

Price is not bad if you've got a decently equipped Jetts nearby.

  • Are these gyms big or low budget? The other 24 hour gym I went to was Anytime Fitness from the Scoopon deal, and that was tiny. The one I went to had no change rooms or lockers (there were open shelves where you leave your stuff, but no locks), and only 2 showers to be shared between all people, male and female. And frequently there was no toilet paper.

Is Jetts another one of those?

You just described my local Jetts gym. Don't know what its like in other areas but would probably be similar. I go to Snap Fitness 24hr and they are a lot better equipped.

      • Which branch is that?

I guess I shouldn't have expected much with membership fees this low.

that's essentially my local Jetts too, facilities are sub par and hardly maintained. the weights room is tiny with no squat rack nor olympic bars for dead lifts, benching ect. (they have weird ass machines to replace the lack of these)

it's some what cheap at 23 something per fortnight (concession) but i'm sure there are better gyms out there!

      • Yeah that's what happens when you join a 24/7 access gym though cause there's no staff if you get injured! Squats being super dangerous with poor form

        • +1

yeah good point. i heard anytime fitness have squat racks etc. and they're 24/7, is this true?

        • Yes, they are an exception :P

  • Would you be able to transcribe exactly what your SMS said?

Joining fees are for chumps anyway. I don't think I'd join a gym that wasn't willing to waive the joining fee.

  • Brisbane CBD gym opens November 2, foundation memberships are still available up to and including that date. Free joining fee, backpack and a few other bits and pieces.

May be handy for those that miss out on this deal

I have been a Jetts Member in Perth for the last year and a bit. Maybe you have issues over East but here, they are great! I have been to four different ones (one being a toilet stop) but I think they are equal to the size of the are they are in.

I go there for a workout - free weights and cycling every other day (google Body for Life). Can't say I would need anything else. My current branches are either Applecross (a bit small but nice eye candy) but mostly Belmont…big and every muscle group is catered for.

Trust me, I don't like paying joining fees either but the fact that I can do my workout in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth is worth the joining fee.
