Missed the Amazon deal for 500ml so got this instead. Thanks OP.

  • How much do you put in each tank?

    • From what I can tell, 50mL per fill is standard (so 100x uses in this bottle).

  • -1

Is this concentrated or ready to use?

    • +1

I hope it's concentrated at this price, I'd empty the whole thing in one go just to fill the wiper tank

    • +1

It says concentrate on the label highlighted in red so I assume so.

    • +1

concentrate according to the sticker on the screenshot

    • It's concentrate. That little red diagonal stripe on the front of the jug says so

    • +4

100 shots per 5L. Had to go here to get a clear enough photo to read the red stripe.

Also available here for $24.30 if pickup from Castle Hill is an option or ordering $99 of stuff from there for free delivery.

As an OzBargainer I've been using the tablets. Couple of bucks buys 20 or more, drop one in 4L of water. Seems to do the job.

      • What tablets do you get?

      • is this safe and reliable to use ? Im never sure of super cheap Chinese products.

whats in them ? do they clean the windows ? do they leave any streaks?

        • +1

          Chinese magic.

No idea really, but they work ok and don't leave streaks. Ultimately it's just a low suds detergent, and it's only going in the washer reservoir so pretty low risk.
Haven't had any blockages, I normally drop one in a jug of water first and they dissolve completely though you can just drop in the reservoir and fill with water.

@bamzero: Too sketchy for me, i've seen posts from people using too heavy mix of cheap bug remover and it's stripped the clear off their mirrors after a short amount of time

            • @Brick50: Maybe the too heavy mix is the problem though… Drop too many tablets in and maybe you'd have the same problem, but I've been using at the recommended 1 per 4L for years without any issues.

    • +1

Seems to be 1:40 ratio … or 50ml per washer bottle according to this site.

    • This is what someone posted as a product review on that ebay listing.

      Not good value for money
I don't recommend this product on the grounds that it is poor value for money, $37.95 au for 5 litres.

5 litres only gives you five refills as it is not very concentrated, contrary to what is suggested by the labeling.

The labeling states that it is a concentrate, other products that are true concentrates will do the same job and require considerably less product to produce similar results and cost considerably less.

It will work as suggested, but you need a large amount of product to produce results.

If the product was reasonably priced to make it good value for money, I would purchase again.

Anyone is allowed to buy it - don't need to be a mechanic. Plenty of bogans out there with a front yard full of cars needing this :))

      • just need coop bargain

  • Why did the blonde looking at BOSCH BWA5L Windshield Washer Fluid 5 Litres can?

    • +3

      Based strokeposter

      • No, the can had “ concentrate” on the label.

        • +3

I have made further attempts to decipher your original post with this additional context and I’m still lost mate

        • -1

See here's the thing… for the punchline to work the original setup needs to be in actual, intelligible English otherwise no one will give a sh*t and you become an even greater joke yourself.

Your attempt was akin to someone doing a knock-knock joke but with out the "knock knock" or "who's there" part and skipping straight to the punchline, rendering the audience confused and under the impression you've had a stroke or something.

      You sentence good

Can't refill using just tap water? Been doing that for years.

    • is this how cars get mouldy reservoirs?

      • +1

Yes. I used tap water in my old car and ended up with all the algae and mould growing in reservoir. Now I only use Demineralised water 1L for $2 from coles.

        • Can you use this stuff and not use demineralised water?

          • @Jackson: This is concentrated so you will have to mix it with water. I am not an expert but I will personally use distilled/demineralised water. Tap water has soluble particles that can end up accumulating in your washer motor and tubes and might damage them.

  • How is it compared to the ready to use one like the SCA 5L for $11 ? can last longer? Maybe not to worry if I wash my car only 2-3 times a year

    • 1) You can empty the entire thing in 1 go vs the concentrate above.

      2) Washer fluid =/= car wash liquid

  • +2
    • Do you use this yourself? Does it dissolve easily?

      • Also would like to know. I'm totally buying these thigns next time i need some.

      • Yes. Drop the tab into an old 3 litre milk container with water. Shake for 30 seconds and then pour into your windscreen reservoir.

        • +3

          rinse clean of milk first

      • yes and yes. they are excellent and save you a fortune!

Buy TRP 5ltr brand from Gilbert & Roach for $16.99

  • Wow all 45 sold in 1 hour. Hopefully they restock.

  • This makes up 50L and on sale is very cheap

    https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/sca-sca-windscreen-wash-…

    • I used to use SCA but have now switched to Bar's Bugs and find it better.

      • +1

Nah. Bar's Bugs is garbage and may very well clog or corrode your windshield washer tubes or reservoir. It also settles in the reservoir in a matter of days and becomes completely ineffective in my experience.

        • That's interesting to know, now I'm worried the same is happening for me.

So do people recommend sticking to SCA or Bosch?

          • +1

@sena86: I'd recommend either Bosch or Trico, both of whom are global OEM suppliers of washer fluid to the automotive industry.

          • @sena86: SCA is fine, been using it for years in my cars with no clogging of pump etc

        • There's something really wrong with those anecdotes.

It comes out of the bottle extremely thick and viscous

I wonder if they all had a bad batch or something, because it's not thick and viscous at all, it just pours like water 🤷🏼‍♂️

  • +2

This is OzB, thought everyone would just fill up the wiper reservoir with the free soapy bucket at the servo.

    • LOL

    • +1

I have yet to see any bucket at any servo that has actual soap in it or even the suggestion that it once had soap in it.
Normally they contain dark, muddy water that would probably kill a human who drank it.

      • -1

You need to go to an upper class suburb servo. No requirement to buy overpriced fuel, just free soapy water.

  • Cool deal but if you're into keeping your car clean, then you probably have used some kind of sealant like a wax or ceramic coating.

If that's the case, a "strong grime remover" fluid like this is high pH and will damage the protective coating on your car when it gets in contact with it.

Better off using the pH balanced car soap that you would use to wash the car in the windscreen washer fluid bottle.

    • What? How is this getting in contact with the protective coating on your car?

  • +1

    Store has new stock.
