AI-generated from the text of 104 Amazon customer reviews: Customers are not happy with the value, quality and charge of the pest control device. They mention that it's a waste of money, the battery only lasts 3 hours and that it is a cheap plastic flimsy item.

Widely available via Catch & Amazon. Will be totally ineffective so a bricks & mortar store wouldn't risk carrying it due to the high return rate. But online purchases present a returns hurdle/overhead which usually means customers can't be bothered.

    • But Amazon is free returns via mail.. wouldn't a physical store present more of hurdle?

Not as straighforward as it used to be…

        • Which one

          • @deme: Amazon

            • @sumyungguy: Dude it's literally a few clicks

@deme: Some items aren't eligible for free returns

                • @sumyungguy: Which ones?

                  • @deme: It's not clear, just try literally a few clicks on a recent purchase - it may incur a return shipping fee.

                    • @sumyungguy: Not if it's defective

                      • @deme: The mozzie zapper is shipped by a third party seller so you have to submit a request and Amazon decides whether you're eligible for a refund

i can confirm it attracts bugs, so if that's what you're after go for it. it does not however kill the insects. friend had one on a camping trip last weekend.

    • Yeah, I’ve bought a similar one from Kmart to use camping, but mine did kill them

  • You're better off throwing one at the mozzies. Scam and waste of money. Mosquitos aren't attracted to light (Moths, other harmless insects, etc can be). You night get the occasional one that accidentally flies into one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chbT6vvh2dA

Stick with nets/barriers and chemical repellents.
