    from Vinnies?

    • +1

Vinnies get donated goods from businesses - usually brand new and perfect condition. The product they sell is not just throw-away clothes donated by families. I've purchased from them before and would do it again without second thought.

I guess its a tax deduction for businesses looking to dispose of old stock.

  • Got one! Cheers OP. Also, thanks for the reasonable express postage pricing.
Fingers crossed it arrives by next Wednesday before I fly out

  • Anyone know if this is small enough to be a personal item (in addition to carry on) on a plane?

    • +1

      Measurements: 45.72 x 30.48 x 19.81 cm

Close to the limit on some budget airlines, but pretty much perfect for a personal item.

    • +1

Yes. Its fairly small and should be fine for carry one as we used it during January overseas travel.

Will wait for Lifeline to sell them.

  • I've had this bag a few years. I've always been pretty happy with it. I don't think that charing port works anymore, but it's been sometime since I tried it. I figure that's my own fault for giving it a good wash tho.

    • Are you able to open up the usb enclosure? It likely just needs a bit of isoprop and scrubbing.

I have an almost identical backpack (Jett Black Nevada) that I paid way more for. Lots of pockets and the most useful of features is it has a pocket at the bottom rear (beneath the straps) where you can put important things like passports and cash, so they're less easily stolen. Have used it on many trips, including overseas in Asia, and has been great.
    $30 is a great price.

    • $45. 30+15

        *$30 if C&C

I have one of these, perfectly good as a work / uni / school backpack, though I think it's a bit much to call it a "travel" bag. The build quality is decent and it does a fine job of holding day-to-day work gear, but don't think the materials would hold up well to the abuse of travelling.

  • What about warranty? 🙃

    /LTT

On a serious note. Decent looking bag with lots of pockets.

  • Thanks, got one.

  • What’s the weight of the bag? Can’t find this info.

I have this bag and have been using it daily in IT for 4+ years. Usually carry lunch, laptop, drink bottle, tools for my job (screwdrivers, cables, notebook etc). I've also taken it on many trips including a 6 week trip around Italy. Very useful and durable bag.

  • So is this bag big enough for a high school student with lunch, books and laptop in it?

    • +1

Going to hazard a guess of yes. Plenty room for a laptop a few books. Lunch and a water bottle.

    • +1

Should be able to fit everything fine

I have this bag, been using it consistently for the past 3 years for highschool. It's been holding up great, no holes or tears except for a bit of scuffing at the bottom. Has plenty of space and pockets for everything you would need and can carry a decent amount of weight before becoming uncomfortable. I can comfortably carry my laptop, iPad, books, pencil case, lunch and a water bottle inside. Only gripe is that the padding on the straps have become completely flat, but it's expected after how long its been used. Overall a great quality bag for day-to-day and school use.

  • This is reviewed to be the best value backpack in the world. Comparable to peak design and other 300+ bags.

Can’t remember the review site though

      source: trust me bro

I'm encouraged by the good reviews by OzBfam, i've bought one

    Thanks OP!

    • Good choice, I have this bag as well and I love it. It's really comfortable to wear as well.

  • It looks like a good back pack, but I have a question!

What's wrong with running USB cable from power bank direct through the zip to charge phone?

    • +1

Nothing. This is just added convenience if you want to keep your bag closed.

  • I've been on the lookout for a backpack recently. I was thinking about buying a 'cheap' Everki one.

Would this backpack be of better quality than the cheaper Everki ones in the $50 to $70 range?

  • No more left

  • saw this bag on Amazon - and they wanted a lot more

  • Singing the tune along with the other OBers who have this. It’s been my daily for 4+ years and still going strong. Only thing I noticed is the black isn’t as black in bright light. Still… cushions are still cushiony and nothing fraying or zips getting caught etc. I would have bought another if I caught it in time. Good price.
