690

Today only!

From today, Sydneysiders and international tourists can take a direct flight to one of WA's top tourist regions, with the first ever service from Sydney to Busselton Margaret River launching in time for the Easter school holidays.

Operated by an Airbus A320 aircraft, the three-per-week service will offer more than 50,000 low-cost seats each year between Sydney and the world-renowned wine and surf region, making a trip to WA’s South West easier than ever.

Jetstar is the only airline to offer direct commercial flights from Sydney and Melbourne to Busselton Margaret River. As the airline celebrates 20 years of flying, these routes demonstrate how Jetstar’s low fares continue to support and grow regional tourism.

To launch the new service, Jetstar is having a 12-hour sale from 9am AEDT, with one-way fares between Sydney and Busselton Margaret River from only $135^.

Route is a good idea, I don't want to go to Perth

No one wants to go to Perth

Perth doesn't want Sydneers either. Good deal.

    • Win/win.

  • Booked this route a couple of weeks ago! This is a good price, it's a few dollars cheaper than what I paid.

Personally I found it a better option to take the direct flight there but flying back from Perth. More options out of Perth and I don't mind the drive if it's just one way.

  • April - august for the dates

  • wish these direct routes had been in operation in Jan (for a wedding we had to go to in Busselton) Long drive to and from Perth, plus very expensive $529 each return via Virgin

  • Good deal. but, only if Jetstar won't cancel the flight

  • Never been there, anything wow factor as compared to the eastern coastline

Yes, particularly since you get sunsets over the ocean instead of sunrises. The real pull for many is some of the best wineries in the country. The broader Margaret River region makes only 2% of the wine in the country, but over 20% of the premium wine. You can't go to a bad winery down there, they just don't survive.

The Indian Ocean coastline is probably better than Pacific's one. Rottnest island beaches are stunning.

Yes….Sharks ! ! at Gracetown, but bloody good fishing at Gracetown in the bay area.

"wow factor"??? Looking for the perfect selfie for your social media accounts?

If you want a week holiday instead of a postcard (though it has those), there is lots.
Avoiding the dull drive from Perth is a big plus, as Busselton is where it starts getting interesting. Especially if you've already seen Perth, or have limited time.
The SW forest is amazing, especially around Pemberton area, as well as the coast, so a loop is good. You need a car.

If you have 2 weeks, continue to Albany.

  • Wonder how many people will book this cause its cheaper then realise theres no publ transport or easy way to get into the city from Margs

    • You mean like Avalon? :) BQB-Perth is more like Sydney to Canberra.

You'll need a car in WA regardless to see all there is. This cuts out a 3 hour drive!

      • Can you hire a car and return at Perth airport?

        • I think most to all car rental companies offer this.

        • Or save money by using an off-airport company like Bayswater, and an Uber or shuttle service.

Yeah, not in busso though. You basically land on a footy oval, not even walking distance to the beach/town

  • Sale hasn’t expired yet, does so at 9am.

  • Been going here from Melbourne for years. Sydney is finally catching up, nice to see.
Thank god for not having to go to Perth anymore to get to some or the best parts of WA.
