These have been clearing out for the last few weeks due to the release of the OM-1 MkII, which is basically the same camera but has some extra system memory enabling some expanded AI features, and an "OM System" label instead of an "Olympus label". I think CameraPro had them for $2599 previously, and I grabbed one from Teds for $2499 a couple of weeks ago, overseas stock has been around $2300 on Amazon.

It's a great deal if you're looking for an upgrade for an old m43 camera.

Surcharges: 0.75% Card, 1.5% PayPal.

  • Is this really good value? I mean M43 system is great because body can be compact, lightweight and consequently more affordable, but does OM-1 have any of the above? At this price range not hard to find a better APS-C or even full frame options.

    • It's still relatively compact compared to other formats, and the associated glass is certainly lighter and cheaper than APS-C and Full Frame.

  • My first brand new camera was the OMD EM1 1st gen. Back to the day, it was around $1200 for the body, came with $200 voucher for the next purchase and few discount made it around $900. For the M4/3 system, it should cost below $1500 imo. Its a great system but out of date.
