just checked for deals for clearly.

apparently for new accounts - but I logged in with my usual account and it seemed to work.

35% off AND free delivery , cheapest glasses before coupon are $9 (with the cheapest frames) + $9.90 delivery, so $5.35 delivered.

pretty damn cheap.

I just bought 2 pairs for $14.30 delivered.

when I first needed reading glasses in 2019 (?) I bought from clearly as they were least expensive.
my eyesight has changed a little and I needed new reading glasses.
I bought 3 pairs from Clearly in June - delivery took 2 weeks. I was really impressed by the quality.

checked out a variety of online glasses stores - e.g. Goggles4U charge ~$36 for delivery for a single pair.
Zenni optical were pricey.
eyebuydirect expensive once you added even the most basic lenses
I checked out a few others, all more expensive.

so stock up on a couple of pairs if, like me, you are prone to losing or breaking your glasses.

nice

unsure the expiry date so left it blank.

I had a couple of years of specs from optometrists, which I replaced most years. Usually something went wrong. I have had a $13 set of Clearly specs for over five years now, and they're still going perfect. I see these deals pop up and think that I should get some new glasses, but then realise that these are still doing a great job.

      • Cheers, bought a pair, the above code didn't work for some reason, when I tried it the final price went up by $5 (maybe because they were presecription ones?). Oh well, needed a new pair anyway and they were still way cheaper than OPSM. :)

        • Absolutely - I checked and I actually paid about $30 due to my prescription not being compatible with all of the 'included' options. Bit steep now at about $40, which is a quarter of what I would have to pay locally.

      • These are better quality than specsavers. Lens options and coatings are also a lot cheaper. You can have both thinning and blue light filter for example, while you can only have either for specsavers. Then you consider the price difference and its a no brainier.

Recommend you get bulk billed prescription from specsavers, ask for a printout or email, then use it for Clearly

My last 2 orders have been great. The frames were great quality as were the lenses.

I have received many compliments for my last pair

The inexpensive frames are usually the last of the stock for that style. So there is more of a limited selection at the "ozbargain" end of the price scale.

It sounds like the reading glasses are ok from these guys but more complicated lenses really aren't up to scratch. I have progressive lenses, which Specsavers and 1001 always seem to mess up so was hoping Clearly would be alright, but they weren't. They did my single vision ok, but I won't be using them for my multi focal.

Top brands I've found so far for complex lenses: OPSM, Vision Direct, and surprisingly, a random optometrist in Thailand.

  • No dice. It's only giving me 35% of the lenses and removing the $4.99 shipping. Still bloody expensive for transition sunnies.

Thanks Op. Bought a test single vision pair for $8.45 delivered. First time buying specs online…
