Imported Asahi Super Dry 5% Case of 24 500ml Cans (Limit 6) $70.19 + Free Shipping (Excludes WA) @ CUB via Lasoo Marketplace

220
BEER10

I shared an Asahi deal the other week, and there was a lot of feedback around wanting the Japan brewed option - so here it is. The code works on all beer listed currently, however I wanted to highlight this one in particular, as it's around $6 cheaper than anywhere else + Free Shipping with the coupon code.

Limit: 6 Slabs per customer.

Description:

Imported direct from Japan, Asahi Super Dry is a rich, full-bodied beer that's delicate on the palate. Yeast, malt, hops, maize and rice combine to produce a refreshing beverage with a satisfying dry finish. Best served cold, Asahi Super Dry Cans are perfect for outdoor drinks service, whatever the occasion.

  • I have questions, within the link you provided it states

in Beer sold by Carlton & United Breweries

In assuming this is just lazy programming

    • +1

CUB is owned by Asahi & distributes these.

    • Curious about this also. It's probably the deciding factor for me.

    • Hi P3aker. Lasoo is a Marketplace. The beer itself is distributed by CUB.

  • +5

    What’s the BBD on these?
I’m not much of a drinker, so I just like to have some of these in the fridge for special occasions.

  • +1

what did WA ever do to you :(

    • +9

WA disallowed Corona entering the border

    • +4

      wA'S A HIgh risk area

  • Can be had for $62.40

    • +5

Is that definitely imported from Japan (as in this Deal), not the inferior tasting locally brewed 500ml cans by CUB here??

As a long time Asahi Dry drinker, wouldn't buy the local version again.

      • not the inferior dish water tasting locally brewed

        FTFY

Same goes for the locally brewed Budweiser.

      • +1

No, the one on Coles receives many negative reviews because they are locally brewed, people say it's bad compared to the imported ones.
I'm wondering if it is that bad, but the huge amount of negative reviews made me went Corona instead.

        • If you're not used to drinking the original, the local is said to be ok. But tastes a lot like other local basic CUB beers - a bit bland.

Have done side by side comparison of local & Japanese brewed. Always the Japanese brewed for me!

I've drunk a lot of Japanese brewed Asahi Super Dry, especially in Japan. For me its a taste of Japan, so I'm biased🍺

Ordered 3, arrives in 3-5 business days. 36L of beer for $210 delivered.

    Better be imported from Japan🎏

Asahi Super Dry is my Summer drink, so don't drink much over Winter. Found the head in it declines with its age.

      Sounds like my ex-wife…..

      • Was waiting for that comment😉

Ordered a slab. It better be imported from Japan so help me gawd lol.

Who's taking screenshots of this just in case?

    • Took a screenshot before ordering. If local - they can pay for return as not as described. I won't be drinking it.

  • Doesn't let me order from Ipswich it says yeaaaaaaaah nah.

    • CUB doesn't like WA, & now just outside Brisbane.
      Placed order in Brisbane ok.

      • But apparently CUB will via Amazon but I have to pay an extra $7 postage……. Hmmmmm

        https://www.amazon.com.au/Asahi-Super-Dry-Cans-500mL/dp/B002…

        • Beware! NOT Japanese brewed!

          From Amazon:
"Manufacturer: ‎Carlton & United Breweries" (That's in Melbourne!)

          Amazon descriptions are notoriously inaccurate!
Not stated as Japanese brewed that I could see! Just the usual hints it might be. So beware!

          "AUTHENTIC JAPANESE BEER"'
          - yes Asahi Super Dry is Japanese style developed in Japan, but is this brewed in Japan??

Cartons used to confuse bottle shop staff who would say the carton shows "Japans #1 Beer" - so brewed in Japan, but it was brewed here!

And there it is in the Review:
          Jean-claude Branch
          1.0 out of 5 stars
Not brewed in Japan. Be careful when ordering

CUB offers often limit delivery locations. Was surprised my order was accepted. Previous orders weren't as Brisbane is not on their delivery map!

          • @INFIDEL: Yeah I didn't. I had a read as well.

            • @tugman: Asahi "Japanese Beer" descriptions in Australia seem designed to confuse…
              Hope this Deal is accurate

              • @INFIDEL: Yeah id be so dirty that I would drinnk it anyway… but yeah its deceptive practices

                • @tugman: More a shady marketing practice.

They just leave out that it's locally produced & different to the Japanese version.

(It's Japanese developed beer, produced by or under license to Asahi in many countries.)

Leaving it up to the consumer to make the ASSUMPTION it is Japanese brewed! And therefore a premium imported beer.

Advertising promotes its essential Japanese qualities, & Japanese scenes, without saying its a local brew like VB.

Luckily we're onto their trickery & warnings appear most Asahi Deals.

Because of that uncertainty - this is the first time I've bought Asahi Super Dry in a Deal in years. I prefer to be sure it's Japanese brewed - shown on the product.

I just created an account to comment - Its cheaper at Dan's House - https://www.danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_798161/asahi-super-… $69.25 (members price) and I can 100% confirm that Dan's version is Imported from Japan.

    • here in Adealide Dan's has the member offfer on the 6 pack ($22) not the carton

      • Thanks I will update my post 😄

      • Same in Qld.

    • will they price match for non-members who don't want to sign up?

    • +1

They've pulled a switch. Look in the item details. It's now brewed locally

    • Dan states Country: Australia, not Japan!

      Not that price in Qld!
      $22 for 6 as member
      $76.99 for case of 24
This Deal is nearly $7 cheaper, & delivered for some States!

  • @dmcain
    What about these: Japan brewed?
    https://www.lasoo.com.au/products/carlton-united-breweries/5…

Can one tell from the picture where they are brewed?

    • Doesn't say directly imported from Japan in the description.

    • Asahi bottles are normally 99.5% brewed in Australia from my experience - its only the 500ml cans that are normally imported from my experience.

    • +1

      Same but DEARER than OP's $45.89 last Deal - It's local 🐨

As OP said in Deal Description:
"I shared an Asahi deal the other week, and there was a lot of feedback around wanting the Japan brewed option - so here it is."

24 x 500ml imported cans are the better tasting & better value Deal! ($5.85/L vs your $6.95/L)

  • I agree the locally produced version sucks compared to the import. Has anyone else here contacted Asahi Australia to let them know your thoughts?

I’d like to think with collective feedback they’ll revert to just importing the cans.

  • Thanks, picked up a slab. Hopefully it's the Japanese brewed one

  • why not WA :(?

  • Mine has been shipped. Whoever gets their slab first, can you please comment if it's made in Japan or not?

    • +4

Received mine today from this post and it's made in Japan with Best Before date 11/2024

      • Excellent.

      • +2

3 cartons just arrived, in Brisbane.
In bold caps on bottom of carton:
        BEER - MADE IN JAPAN😊 BBD: 11/24🍺
Should be nice & cold by lunch time🍻

        • Enjoying the taste of an ice cold Asahi Super Dry🍺
Been a long wait for Japanese brewed for me. I'd given up.
