Amazon are matching Bing Lee if you want to support a local business instead

    • +3

      Lol

      • +5

379.05 OW price beat and you can "support a local business"

    • -4

      Lol

      'Local business'

      • +5

Well there are some of us on OzB that prefer to support local businesses than to give Bezos their money

I’m just stating the fact on what I’ve seen on here lol. Thanks for negging a helpful comment btw

        • Lol what a joke.
I'm all for supporting small local businesses but using this as a reason to buy from retail giants like Bing Lee is an absolute joke.

You'd be handing your money over amazon if they drop the price by a few dollars.

Bing Lee doesn't give a (profanity) about locals, wake up and smell the coffee

          • +3

            @Rick James18:

You'd be handing your money over amazon if they drop the price by a few dollars.

You do realise Bing Lee also offer price match too right?

I’m not sure what you’re trying to convey across when all my original comment was where Amazon was price matching who

I didn’t need some critic remarks on what and where I find who they’re price matching who. I have been consistently letting others know when Amazon does a price drop like this and letting them know which retailers they’re matching

All I pointed out is that Bing Lee is also the same price and it all comes down to who they prefer to shop with. That was my whole point of my original comment: being helpful.

Some might say Bing Lee is just around the corner for them, and also added a bonus treat is there’s 5% cashback on Bing Lee gift cards on ShopBack, so wouldn’t that make it cheaper overall than Bezos?

Wake up and smell a second coffee as you originally said :)

            • -2

@BargainsGrabber: Mate, the point that I'm trying to convey is that we should we should going to the cheapest option which is what you're trying to say in a bit in a roundabout way. Going to Bing Lee over Amazon because they are a 'local business' is a ridiculous argument.

          • +2

@Rick James18: Sounds like you woke up on the wrong side of bed and need that second coffee lol

  • What's the difference between this one and 32" ViewFinity S80A UHD? Looks same specs

  • +3

I own this monitor and it has been really good.

Brightness and viewing angle wasn’t great but has a lot of nice features such as wifi, Bluetooth, and App Stores.

It has usb 60w charging as well as 3 HDMI ports. I wish it has an optical or aux port for speakers and soundbars.

    • How is it as just a monitor?

I’ve read it won’t take from sleep without using the remote. Does it try and go to the ‘smart’ section every time it comes on?

It looks good but not sure if it’s more a monitor with ‘smarts’ or media consumption device with a monitor function tacked on.

      • I waited a few days to answer your question. It almost never wakes up from sleep without using the remote (only happened to me once not sure how).

But if the monitor function was used last time, it would turn on as a monitor by default.

  • can you have this in portrait mode too ?

    • Not with the stand provided

    • You'll have to buy a VESA stand to do that.

    • +3

I have this mounted wall mounted in my gym and it works in Portrait mode and auto rotates OSD. Perfect for mirroring of your iPhone with built in airplay.

  • +2

Wow that’s a great price for this monitor

Get a price beat at ow
    https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/samsung-32…

    • Officeworks has dropped their price to $397 now… no more price matching

  • +1

    Does it have speakers?

    • Yes. Not great but it has speakers

  • +3

Just price beaten at OW…2 for $758.10 ;)

    • Went to OW for a price match, they changed the price to $397 as I was driving :-(

  • -1

I want this exact monitor, just bigger, and wider, and more curved.

  • +1

Does this charge my device if plugged in with USBC?

    • yes. you can plug in a compatible USB-C computer/ipad/smartphone etc and it will mirror the display accordingly as well as supply power up to 65w.

I was tossing up between this, LG's similar offering, and the 34" ultrawide Dell monitor for use as mainly a WFH monitor but ended up getting the Dell simply because the brightness was much higher on the Dell. If I were getting a monitor for multimedia viewing, probably would have gotten the Samsung M70B. The price here is amazing!

      • For WFH I have switched to all Dell monitors as much for the Dell Display Monitor software as the displays themselves.

Can anyone reccomend an alternative for use with other brand monitors?

  • Thanks OP. I've been on the hunt for a good UDH monitor that I can also use as a TV. This looks perfect.

    • +1

I use the baby version (27.5") as a TV in the bedroom, works fantastic, plus you'll get all the Samsung channels if that's your thing. Remote control is basically the exact same their regular tv remotes.

  • +1

I had this monitor from work for few months, it is a great unit, but my issue is that you need to create an account even if you want use it as a monitor. I don't mind creating an account to use the smart features of the monitor but just to use it as a monitor if you forced to login, I would say its over kill. If you are after a monitor that will plug and play than this monitor it not for you.

  • +1

If you have a Samsung Galaxy phone or tablet, you can use DEX wirelessly with these monitors.

    • +1

Do you really use Dex? When I've tried briefly it hasn't been a great experience…

      • +1

When was the last time you tried it?

I don't have a Samsung phone anymore, but was using a Fold 4 until a few months ago. To be honest, Dex is my most missed feature from that phone and I hardly used my home notebook while I had it, especially with a wireless Dex-capable Samsung monitor.

The software has improved with every OneUI release and the the modern Snapdragon processor and 12 GB RAM are more than enough for 90% of the tasks. I used it with a nifty Samsung Treo keyboard (it also has shotcuts for the phone and the smart monitor that has a built in browser) that I got for around $30, and a Logitech Triathlon mouse.

There are even popular apps, like LumaFusion that optimise their UI for the Dex mode.

Google is now planning it's own implementation of the desktop mode for the Pixel, which means that Samsung is probably doing something right.

  • Thanks OP! Just price matched with JBHiFi ($395), also picked up a Belkin 0.8m USBC4 cable to connect my MacBook as a live chat bundle deal for $30.

  • IPS? VA? Or we don't ask that anymore

  • Is it better than the Lenovo one posted several days ago? Same price but seems lenovo has IPS

    • Would like to know the answer to this as well.

  • was this meant to come with the camera as per the Amazon spiel? if so mine didnt lol

SLIMFIT CAMERA: The SlimFit camera with tilt functionality allows you to create the perfect angle while using your favorite video call apps like Google Duo, which can be accessed directly through the monitor; Plus, the camera cover and option to fully detach always protect your privacy****

    • +1

Optional accessory, $99 RRP. But any USB webcam will work with it, not just Samsung's. It is advertised in the software as a way to watch yourself do workouts with Picture-in-Picture mode.

      • +1

Hmm. Kinda misleading if it's not included as it's one of the five bullet points under "About this item". It does have "****" after it, but the only fine print with four asterisks in the content refers to workmode. I expect this is unintentional ie they left out the bit where the asterisks note that the camera is optional but again, it is misleading so maybe if anyone has bought this monitor then after taking some screenshots of the bullet points and the image showing the camera under "Watch, Play, Live in style" you could query Amazon about the missing camera….. ;-)

  • OW updated price to match this offer, $397 but unavailable online.

Stock checker if anyone wants to pick it up locally.

  • I can't decide between this and the LG 27UP850N 27" 4K UHD IPS Monitor. Would be for use as display for M1 Macbook Air for work/study and some very casual gaming. Does anyone have any insight as to which they would go for?

    • Apparently there are only 2 left in stock of this one, if that helps.

  • I just got this the other day from officeworks. its an okay monitor
however doesnt include the bloody usbc cable!

  • just bought this one from Bing Lee online for $339
They had massive hot online deal for 24 hours and this monitor was on sale for $339

    It's back to $699 now.
