Great for home automation via zigbee

Cheap, good value power board with a tonne of USB ports that functions well as a Zigbee router. Pairs almost immediately with Zigbee2MQTT and is fully supported. This is a great way to extend a Zigbee network and add USB-powered sensors/devices.

    Have one already from before.
And yes it's very good just lacks power monitoring , and any international plugs support
    otherwise is excellent

Is each port addressable? or is it only the entire board that can be on or off?

      Thanks!

        If you are asking

If each single wall outlet is able to turn off and on Via ZigBee then yes

All USBs are 1 single switch on the ZigBee too

Sorry I just read on amazon:

          Just read:

【4 AC Outlets 4 USB Ports】Zigbee Smart power strip with 4 Individually Controlled AC outlets and 4 USB ports supported for 8 appliances simultaneously, the maximum current is 2.4A. ZigBee hub is required, it is compatible with Tuya Hub and Philips Hue.It's a ZigBee 3.0 protocol in our smart power strip, make sure the protocol of your hub is the ZigBee 3.0 or less.

          Thank you!

@teereb: But the last picture states no hub required.

            • +2

@BuyNow Think Later: That's because the manufacturer makes that exact powerboard with different smart controllers; Zigbee (the one in the deal), and Wifi (that does not need a hub). And they've included the "no hub" photo by mistake.

The linked product will need a Zigbee hub.

  • Where would you use something like this?

    • Home office, kids rooms etc

    • +1

I have one set up for my home theatre, when i turn off my TV it switches off the AVR, Power Amps and Subs, this saves a lot of standby power.

      • But how much standby power does the powerboard use?

        • Hopefully less than the 3 other devices combined…
Newer devices are required to use less than 1W standby under EU law. I think the newest norm is even stricter. So if you use global products you should have very low standby consumption.

Personally, I would use this…. nowhere.

Powerstrip made by a company that doesn't even bother coming up with a proper name, connected to the internet? No thanks.

I've torn apart cheap powerbars in China before and found shockingly bad internals, which led me to buy from strictly reputable companies instead.

      • +3

It's not connected to the internet, not even wifi. It's Zigbee. It connects to a Zigbee Hub or USB stick which connects to an automation system like Home Assistant.

  • Is there a way to control outlets with physical switch like the tradfri ones?

    • It has one power switch that turns off/on the 4 outlets, not the usbs

  • +1

No SAA certification that I can see and only rated to 1650W (of 2400W that a standard outlet supports). Would not touch this as it will likely void any home/contents insurance if it's the cause of a fire.

    • There's an SAA stamp and this AS/NZ certification: https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71bq4a77n0L.AC_SL1500.jpg

    • I saw saa on 5th image. In terms of power rating, maybe better to use with low power devices.

not toaster/kettle, but computer, monitor, printer etc or TV, sound bar, etc…

  • bought a similar one on Amazon before, not sure is same brand or not, which is totally rubbish, broken after a week. AVOID!!!

    • me too, looked identical. started making an electronic hum after ~12 months. landfill. I Just checked, it was sold by the same seller with same pictures. Absolute rubbish

  • Can this directly work with Tuya, without a hub?

    • Not this one, no, it is a Zigbee power strip.

However the same company also makes a version that is Wifi that runs with Tuya

  • Support via ZHA in Home Assistant?
    Acts as a router/repeater?

    • Any ZigBee that is hardwired usually acts as a repeater

coming up for me as $40.99 minus the 10% tick coupon?

    • That's wifi. The deal (now expired) was for the Zigbee version.

I have 4 wifi versions of this I use for Christmas lights outdoors. This product is so flimsy not a chance in hell I would use indoors. Just my 2c.
