Works fine for me. Can even cancel it and join again and again with student prices.
I got it to work but I recall needing to go through a somewhat convoluted process to get my student email verified. Unfortunately, as I verified it last year, I can't remember exactly what trick I used to get their form to accept *.edu.au addresses. (It might have involved fiddling with the URL?)
As AustriaBargain mentioned, student DashPass is $4.99/month which can be handily paused and resumed at the same rate.

Different phone number yes. I've had Latitude/Westpac/CBA cards which gave me free U1 for like 3-6 months.

@foxes28: Yeah definitely, I used it on Friday for a trip from the airport home and for dinner that night and got the uber one benefits for both so can definitely confirm its still running.

with the many deals from DoorDash and Menulog, I wonder how many ozbargainers are still using UberEats? I was offered free Uber One for half a year or so and still didn't use them once

Its all algorithm based these days, its not the same as the old put some items in the cart and wait 15 minutes for them to throw a discount code at you to get you over the line. They watch your usage and spend and will only give you deals that encourage you to purchase from somewhere you wouldn't normally buy from - for example I only get offers for groceries and never takeaway cause I don't use uber eats for groceries. Same for Flybuys - if you consistently spend $100 a week on groceries theyll send you a 10k points offer for spending $120 for 4 weeks, in the hopes that you develop a habit of spending that extra $20. I suspect it is only going to get worse as time goes on and these systems improve their monitoring.
Doordash is terrible in that you cannot stack promos, since all their promos have individual code, and you can only use 1 code per order.

I don't understand why almost anyone uses any of them. They charge through the roof for their services with fees and inflated menu prices and treat their drivers like toilet water

You can also use it multiple timesI preordered something as well and I got charged an extra $15 when my order got delivered. Did this happen to you as well?
Did you change the order since when you first placed it? As one-time promo code drops off if the order is amended, and you get charged full price.
A few weeks ago, a restaurant ran out of an item in my Uber Eats order and the options were edit or cancel order. If I editted the order, the promo code was no longer there. So I decided to cancel rather than pay full price.I changed the delivery time, but not the contents of the order
@rocketrocket: Yeah I believe if you update the order at all it removes the promo code because it detects it’s no longer active
Yea only ever amend an order if it lets you reapply the promo code.

Nah still available - some places are closed but if they were eligible you can still place a scheduled order and the discount would still apply

Nope mine is still there and it would still let me place an order from the same place with the discount applied. In your case, try a different place. As per T&C, there seems to be a limit for each restaurant
@foxes28: Nah, once you complete an order, the banner will disappear from your homepage and previous stores that were all displaying the offer no longer do.
@evasive: I checked again and you're right! Now they are gone. Maybe it took them few minutes to remove the discount etc. because I swear it was still there after I placed an order
issue is the closed places might have discounted items but they dont show cos they're closed

Offer has now disappeared before closing time so I assume the limit has reached for this restaurant.

yeah i know, was using it an applicable one. found the issue - they no longer count discounted items as full value - needs to be over 30 on final checkout

Also noted my last order didn't have the promo applied even though the order says 1 promo applied- already cancelled but in hindsight should have just ask CS first.
