eufy 2C Pro 2K Vs Eufycam 3

Looking to get a multi camera Eufy setup for outside our house. Already have the camera/ fingerprint door lock and very happy with that.

Looking for some recommendations or personal reviews of the 2C Pro and Eufycam 3 in terms of performance and value. I know the image quality is most probably much better on the 3 given the 4k, but I am assuming 2k with the assistance of the spot light should be fine for most situations. Ability to expand storage of the HomeBase 3 is something that looks interesting just for future proofing as well.

Looks like I can pickup a 4 pack of the 2C Pro for about $700 now, but the Eufycam 3 would be a good $850+ for just a 2 camera setup.

Any thoughts or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

If you use Apple devices, EufyCam 2/2C/2 Pro/2C Pro is compatible with HomeKit Secure Video, EufyCam 3 isn't at this time

    • Thanks for that. I am an iOS user, but don't use HomeKit.
Do you think the better image quality and/or solar on the 3 is worth it?

HSV doesn't count toward your iCloud storage limit so makes it easy to store and access your footage. If you're going with local storage via Homebase 3 make sure you can access your recordings when you're away from home. I use an Arlo hub but my low-rent NBN plan doesn't allow port forwarding so I now have one HSV camera (Aqara) in addition to my five Arlo.

The homebase 3 is a big step up over the homebase 2. So would be learning towards the 3 cameras myself just for this.

So this means the S300 camera range.

All these solar/battery powered cameras work on motion detection, generally 99% of the time they are good, but can miss the odd moment.

If you want 24/7 recording, then you need to look at something like the E330 range

    • Thanks for that. It is tempting as the expandability is one that looks intereating

HB3 storage is easy to expand, drop in a 2.5" drive. While the HB2 is a no go, the promised USB drive support has been MIA for years now, so doubt it is coming.

        • Is the quality increase with the 3 worth the extra money?

          • @tjc589: Only have the 4k cameras, so can't really compare to the 2k. I would guess the 2k ones would be pretty decent as well.

  • If you know someone that works at Telstra, they can get 40% off the eufy store with a one time code

    • Wow. Thanks for that.

    • WOW How does one find something working there :)
