Good morning!!

OpenAI has announced the ChatGPT 4o.

This announcement came with some freebies for free users.

When using GPT-4o, ChatGPT Free users will now have access to features such as:

• Experience GPT-4 level intelligence

• Get responses(opens in a new window) from both the model and the web

• Analyze data(opens in a new window) and create charts

• Chat about photos you take

• Upload files(opens in a new window) for assistance summarizing, writing or analyzing

• Discover and use GPTs and the GPT Store

• Build a more helpful experience with Memory

There will be a limit on the number of messages that free users can send with GPT-4o depending on usage and demand. When the limit is reached, ChatGPT will automatically switch to GPT-3.5 so users can continue their conversations.

        This tripped me up thinking it will be available yesterday, due to the very poor and misleading Release Video from their new CTO,

        Only the ChatGPT "plus" paid members have access to 4o currently, the actual free roll out will occur "in a few weeks"

        Just use Meta.ai in the interim, Zuckerberg is haemorrhaging money on LLama3, and its actually not bad.

          No idea why someone negged you - your question is valid. You want valid information on maximising your usage of ChatGPT so you can hit the ground running: makes perfect sense and the advice ChatGPT provides isn't always the best…

            As this is for a limited amount of uses for free you'd be best to have an idea on how to get the most out of it.

            Not an exact analogy, but similar to rubbing a lamp and have a genie appear and offer you only wishes.. What you ask needs some thought.

            Also.. as the evidence suggest, most people are crap at even using google effectively (eg: how many people know Google Fu or even Advanced Google Search).

            My advice is for shap08, or anyone asking this question, use google first to search for this before you start typing into your free GPT trial.

            Another tip (while Im replying during lack of sleep atm) is treat it a lot like a 'Literal Robot' The difference between typing "Let's help Jack, off the horse". and "Let's help jack off the horse".

        The problem is, who checks to see what bias it has when you ask it a history question for example? For instance, if you ask it who started the First World War you will get a biased answer based on the documents it reads from the web. I'm guessing it reads mostly documents written in English hence you will get an Anglophone point of view. Does it read Russian and German documents to give a German or Russo point of view? I'm not saying one would be more correct than the other, just posing a hypothetical.

      You don't need a learning resource for ChatGPT when ChatGPT is a learning resource itself. I like to use this prompt to learn anything:
      "Teach me about [anything] by recursively asking me questions to gauge my understanding to fill in gaps in my knowledge."

      Remember it's just a LLM and it can hallucinate and generally wants to make you happy just by saying whatever it thinks you want to hear, so you need to fact check almost anything you are told. But the more you use it, the more you learn what's a hallucination and whats not (especially if you want to learn programming with it)

          Years ago I learned English at School, it was my first language. I learned the definitions of words and how to talk. Eventually I ended up putting those words together and came up with a sentence that could help me learn more using AI
