Got one account targeted with $10, many others not xD

Interesting observation though is I had $0 credit on this account, on most I've still got some residual (<$2).

  • Got the $10 on my old account

  • Got both $5 and $10 on my 2 accounts

  • Nothin, but I ordered a bunch of stuff for Mothers day, so that may be it lol..

    • I didn't receive anything either. But I ordered on the 8th.

  • Last order was August 2023. Received $5.

  • Got $10 credit, cheers.

Quarter Pounder, we dropped credit in your account.

Were you born with that name Quarter, or did you marry into it?

  • If you doordashed a Qtr Pounder would that make you a cannibal?

  • Received $5, not ordered for months.

  • can use for pickup too, seems pretty good

  • Not surprised they are sending these out. Deliveries across all three platforms cratered here about 3 to 4 weeks ago. For he 30 to 50% drop in deliveries.

    • Where did you see that?

      • +5

I'm a delivery slave, mate. My own experience but speaking to other slaves they report the same. Restaurants I've asked said less food delivery pickups as well. It began around school holidays and was basically like someone flicked a switch because the drop in orders was like night and day.

Thank you for your service! While I can't always tip, I'm really appreciative of work you and rest do even when food is bad!

Just curious, do you get paid based on the order value or fixed $ to each drop off?

          • +1

@lostinsydney: I can only speak for my area. There are "apparently" many things that go into what you get paid. Trip distance, the store and size of order to name a few. The truth is it can sometimes be random as shit. The fast food chains pay the lowest. KFC orders will be like $5.55 for a short drive (1km or 2km) to customer. However, other stores which aren't one of the big chains will pay $7 to $8 starting rate. I've also seen orders for $10 and a similar order from the same store, going the same distance but at a different time of day will be $17. Obviously the time of day, number of customers ordering and number of drivers delivering also plays a big role.

Australia should not and never should have a tipping culture. Having said that, if someone orders delivery food and they are very happy with the service, tipping even 50 cents doesn't go un-noticed. It might not seem like much but it's very nice to know someone appreciates the shit you have to go through. Restaurants often have very long wait times, which for most platforms is no reimbursement for and the ones that do offer reimbursement for excessive waiting pay shit all ($8 for an hour wait?). Parking and having to walk into the store can also take up time. Yes, that's part of the "job" but sometimes stores are doing things, just like drivers, which slow things down and make for a bad experience. Again, if people don't tip that is fine. I don't expect tips and don't treat customers any differently if they do or don't tip.

            • @tessel: Thanks for the honest write-up! Although what makes you say "Australia should not and never should have a tipping culture."?

              • +3

@Craze: Look at the USA. As soon as tipping becomes the norm employers will (profanity) employees. I never want topping to become expected here. It's toxic as shit when it becomes part of the culture.

  • Got $10 cheers OP!

  • Thanks OP

If you got a $5 credit, use it on the Carl's jr $5 burger deal, use that method to avoid small order fee.
