      Pantry?

    • +15

id suggest one on each wall for full immersion

    • theatre… cave?

    • +3

What is this - a theatre for ants?

    • insert #iUnderstoodThisReference meme :)

  • +18

Almost cheaper than getting a tradie to gyprock a wall :)

    • +1

If you get this TV you only have to gyprock 3 walls though.

Will this fit in the boot of my Mazda 6?

  • Would this be a nice little set for my wife to watch in the kitchen while prepping meals?

    • +4

      The melons would be HUGE
      on the TV of course

      • +1

Hopefully they won't be lemons. ;)

  • Is it touch screen?

    • +14

Yes you can touch the screen.

      • That's great, perfect for the kids to play angry birds in their rooms

  • I know everyone's making jokes but 10 years ago, this size and the quality of the panel would've been $50,000+

My parents have the 75" it's an incredible tv.

    • The 75 could be slightly better specced irrc, more dimming zones?

If I didn't already buy the 75 last year I would easily jump on this deal.

      • I'll buy your TV from last year at heavily discounted price so you can buy this.

    • Exactly. People forget. I remember having a B&W tv lol.

Id buy this but cant justify since I bought an 85 a few months ago lol

    • 30 years ago this would be 100 million+

  • I've heard this thing is actually not that bad (for the money)

    • The c845 took the top spot for affordable TVs in last year. None of the comparative Hisense or Samsung's could touch it, bang for buck. I'm really looking forward to the 855, given it has 4 times the dimming zones and 1.5 times the brightness.

No delivery or store stock anywhere near me. R.I.P in pieces

    • same in WA

      • Am I missing something, nothing available in 75", 85" or 98" in the C745 or C845 for pickup or deliver in QLD (outside of Brisbane)

    • R.I.P in pieces

Is this like sayin 'smh my head'?

Does anyone know what the US equaivalent model name is so I can actually find some reviews on this thing? Wish TCL would just standardise their model names across regions

    • +1

What would you like to know?

I bought the 85" for myself during Black Friday. For the price I paid only an OLED beats it imo.

      2000 nits brightness. 144hz, dolby vision, hdr10+

Those are the main specs for me that I CARE about - it's connected to my desktop PC.

Runs off a built in Google TV which is snappy, but I haven't used it too much.

      Cyber shack review is ok

      https://cybershack.com.au/reviews/tcl-c845-a-superior-mini-l…

      • +1

me too.. Black Friday plus using giftcards to bring it down more. I've been happy with this TV.. I adjusted the settings again last night using an avforums youtube vid, then tested it with an 8k demo.. it looks really nice.. but I'm no expert.

      • For the price I paid only an OLED beats it imo

        bruhhh

The 2024 models are all based of the US being the C755 = Qm7 and C855 = QM8

So id assumed this is similar to last years Q8. Our models follow the US release schedule unlike europe

      • Different specs though. Not hugely different, but they aren't the same

    • This model isn’t available in the Us

  • You're gonna need a bigger lounge

  • how does this compare to the Hisense 100" U7KAU ULED Mini-LED 4K Smart TV [2023] ?

    • -1

Biggest difference is the TCL uses googles operating system and Hisense uses its own software which hampers the tv

      • Solved by a $50 chromecast / apple tv / shield

        • +2

yep not concerned about OS as most likely will pop a google tv of nvidia shield on it anyway.. was wondering about the screen quality

    • I've heard the Hisense ones have a lot of bleed and worse colour replication comparatively. It's had to get accurate info, as the hinse panels in the USA are great, but we get the shitty ones, so USA reviews are generally pretty glowing compared to ours.

    • +1

Hisense is 2 inches larger, 1600nits peak. Pentonic 700 chipset which does 120hz 4:4:4 chroma properly. The e-arc is on the hdmi 2.1 port with the Hisense, which if you use an AVR with hdmi 2.1 switching is better. TCL has the e-arc on a hdmi 2.0 port, which means you can't use e-arc and AVR hdmi 2.1 switching.

The panel in the TCL is made by CSOT.

The panel in the Hisense is made by HKC.

      Both are VA panels.

Stand width is narrower on the Hisense, 1.4m wide, will fit on most 1.5-6m wide cabinets, it's a very deep stand though 500mm. Stand on the TCL is 1.7m wide, 420mm deep.

I personally chose the Hisense because the e-arc on the hdmi 2.0 was a deal breaker for my HT setup, also the stand width meant I didn't have to wall mount it.

So in summary, the TCL has slightly better brightness and zone count but a lesser mediatek board and is better suited for soundbar users.

I bought a C745 98" years ago now thanks to ozb. Wall install is a 2 person minimum job. 3 recommended. Heck, just unboxing is 2 person minimum.

    No regrets!

    • Any chance you could show some pic on the tv unit on the wall 😀

      • +1

        see below

    • any chance you can share a photo of it of how it looks in the room?

      • +9

here you go. Its not a normal 'lounge room' more of a basement parents getaway/mancave/home office. Banana for scale.

        • You Tv has 2 cracks and 2 burns

        • -5

Not going to lie, this looks horrible.

          • @nikoris: First turn off the lights when watching TV. Second, I did warn you it was usual. Its a basement style room and not well finished.

        • Love it thanks

        • Looks great.. I'm a bit apprehrnsive about wall mounting a 100inch tv though.. Is that on brick or studs?

          • +1

@May4th: Brick. You would want it on multiple studs on a normal wall but given the size of the mounting plate this wouldnt be a problem.

        • +1

Did you have to lift those weights long before you had the strength to mount that bad boy? Talking about the TV, not the banana.

        • +1

Not going to lie, your kids have some fine taste in rare and OOP games.

    • Yeah I'd just pay someone to mount it.

  • +1

That missing 2" means youre going to upgrade in a few years due to OCD.

  • More leds = more chance for it to go wrong

    • +1

That's the C745 - this deal is for the C845. Definitely worth paying the little bit extra.

      • Got it Thanks.

  • Managed to get this for less than $4k yesterday

    • Any further tricks and tips?

      • +2

Just asked if it was the best they could do better on price… They reduced the ticket price then applied the 25%…. was very happy with the deal

        • Which store gave you the discount, would you share the receipt?

        • Did you had to also buy the sound bar with extra?

        • A receipt would be very nice if you can please share. thanks

          • +1

@flyingpig: Sorry, just saw this. Probably too late now as they are all out of stock.

It was $3,919 including the soundbar with delivery

            • @rhomax: Can you share your receipt please? JB has there 14 day cheapest price guarentee and you can sometimes get them to match the offer someone else got as a refund price difference

    • More details please. Looking at only 75" but heck if I can get this cheap I'll break the budget

    • Can you share receipt?

  • Got one for 4.250k

    • Hey can you share your receipt.. I went to the shop.. But they not reducing..if you can share the receipt may be I can get at that price.

  • How much delivery they charged?

    • Free

      • Woooh free delivery? How did you get free delivery.. Plz let us know.

  • Looks like a great deal. Confused if I shall get this or wait for 855

    • Get this and ask for a deal to get it closer to $4k as others have done. Have it professionally mounted.

      • Its sold out in VIC now

  • I have stock here..but they not coming down below $4645..hope someone shares the receipt.. Then I can try again.. This offer goes away on 22nd.

  • Guys confused between 98" c845 for $4645..or hisense px2 pro with 120" screen for $4045..which one should I pick..plz share your experience.. Would really help me take a decision. Thanks

    • Er, Hisense PX2 Pro is a projector, not a display. These are two entirely different devices 😁

      • Yes..one is USP and the other is the mini led TV.. Just wondering which one will be worth buying at those price.. What's your take on this.. If you were in my position what would you have bought.. Plz tell me your reasons.. So I can decide too.. Would really appreciate your input on this.. Thanks

        • +2

I have a 4K Laser Projector in my basement (BenQ X3000i) and it's awesome - but I bought it for a 110" image.

If a 110" TV was available at the same price, then I would absolutely have chosen the TV.

          Which doesn't really help you.
My basement has good light control so I don't have to contend with light coming in to the room - in a "normal" room, a projector is always going to have some issues

        • having used multiple projectors… TVs are far better if the price is comparable. Especially for UST projector you need to add ALR screen cost too. Still TV will fare better with HDR, contrast etc. Main advantage of projector was price to screen size ratio.. TVs are getting cheaper, so bridging the gap. Now makes sense to have a projector only if 150" or above!

    • +1

home cinema with adequate light control for a bigger screen, or if worried about children at home / portability, then go for projector/screen. otherwise TV will always trump projector in a bright environment and for picture quality

  • -1

Hmmm..so TV you will choose.. Now the thing is TV is 98" but If I buy the hisense I am ofcourse gona buy the ALR screen of 120"..do you think that extra 20" will be better and immersive or the mini led TV..120" screen will cost me $500-$600 less than the 98" TV.. Do you think TV will be worth spending extra.

  • Has anyone managed to buy this? It doesn't seem to be available in any stores in WA????

  • There are some available here in NSW..but i am not able to get any more discounts over $4645 price.. Will try again tomorrow to a different shop and see..what's your take on this 98" TV or hisense px2 pro ultra short throw Projector with "120 ALR screen.. Which one will you buy out off both?

  • Got crazy deal with 98" c745 at jbhifi 3 days back.. Scored it for $2774 with a Soundbar..then went back today when 25% offer with sound bar was finished to get the TV wall mounted..and got that for just $100 but had to buy a TV bracket which costed $99 after using $10 perk..and over this also got a $500 gift voucher which is the current offer going on..so damm lucky to get all this..so if I sell the soundbar for even $200..final cost will be $2774+199-200-500= $2273..pretty damm happyyyyy 😉
