Several days are $39 per person, cheaper than advertised.

    • Any link?

Anyone know what kind of meals their buffet are? Typical hotel breakfast?

      • +2

Same link above. Sunday 2nd June is $39 per person.

I wouldn't go for the food. It's pretty basic, especially as shown in the video on the page. Go for the experience/cruise primarily.

Digidirect usually does vivid cruises with open bar (genuinely, I’ve been able to get hammered), food, and you get to loan camera equipment. You get a $50 voucher so if you do plan to spend anything on digidirect, it’s like $30 which is insane value.

    • The boat was rocky af and the food was crap last year.

    • link? I'm all for open bar

I know it’s common in the catering industry but I’ve always found the term “grazing station” to be off putting. We are not cows.

    • +4

How about the term, "watering hole"?

    • +5

      You sound udderly disappointed.

    • +6

After witnessing the way some people clean up after their meal in restaurants and food courts, I'd say grazing station is a very fitting term.

Just get a public transport ferry for $6. Best way to see Sydney Harbour at any time.

      seagull sh*t for buffet? )

    • It's a good idea! Do you recommend any ferry line? Like between Circular Quay and Taroonga Zoo?

      Thank you for your share.
PS: I am new to Sydney.

My suggestion would be to take the ferry from Circular Quay to Manly. It's a decent trip and you can see a lot of the sights on it.

      • CQ to Taronga is a good idea for vivid. You will be able to see the opera house illuminated and the bridge as well. Tap off and tap back on within an hour and the return is free.

For a ~Sydney harbour cruise, I would say CQ to barangaroo, it will zip across the harbour to make a stop at luna park and you will see the bridge from both sides. Then it stops at balmain wharf (Good view of the bridge here too) before heading to b'roo.

CQ to Manly is 22min on the fast boat or 30min on the slower big boi. I would only recommend doing this during the day, not for vivid. I would rec the big boi also. It's $8.50 one way and you have to pay for the return trip, unless you go on fri-sun or pub hol in which case you pay $8.90 as youll hit the opal cap.

I went on one of these about 5 years ago for a similar price. Good views, but the food was terrible and the bar service was slow. It was a one time event in my opinion.

2 years ago, A friend of mine was determined to go on the Vivid cruise, and I said I would not stop her but rather wait and have a few drinks… She called me half way through begging 'get me off this boat!' Nothing I could do except say 'I told you so..' I did have a cocktail waiting for her though.

Each to their own, I'd like to hear some other stories… someone might have enjoyed it.

  • Hi Op, there are a few nights with drone show, will the cruise stop around the area to watch? Also, do you have any discount for purchase of 15 tickets?

Did this cruise last night. Nice vivid views, smooth ride. Cruise was fully booked but there was plenty of room. Food was fine, nothing special but as described. Sunday night the crowd was chill, dj tried his best to get the party started but I guess it was only the kids on the dancefloor.
