How to Transfer Google Authenticator to New Mobile?

Hi,

I need to do a factory reset on my Samsung mobile.

I have authenticator (google) and mygov and mygovid on my samsung mobile.

What's the easiest way to temporary transfer it to my spare Motorola so that I can still use the mygov etc while I am resetting my Samsung.

If only there was some place you could ask these questions….. you might have found this

  • Same with mygov etc?

    • Doesn't myGov still only use SMS? Or have they finally given the option for an authenticor app?

And why would that be? Seems like a big ask with no back story… genuinely curious as to why it’s so bad.

Google Authenticator used to suck because there was no options for account transfer or cloud backup. This is no longer the case with the app updates.

It still sucks because it's tied to your Google Account. I use Aegis on Android which lets me back it up wherever I want, even Google Drive if I trusted Google enough.

I found your backup available for sale for $2…

      Use authy or others

Remember, if you're not paying for the product, you are the product….

2FAS can create a backup so you can easily import into another device. Authy is closing down it's desktop option.

Windows 11 + Windows Subsystem for Android + Authy apk file. Anyone can still install and use Authy in Windows 11.
