Been waiting for a deal like this since GWS stopped doing such good deals.

Wonder if Dan Murphy of 1st Choice would price match????

too bad the scoopon site is crashing because they emailed out their sale which had some $0 stuff like myer cards(which are already gone, they only had 50)…

    • Yep, that was expected…..Once that deal is showing up as sold out, then I assume the beer will be accessible again.

  • Lol its not really Japanese though.. Made in Thailand on their behalf

    • Dan Murphy's sells Japanese made Asahi in aluminium bottles. Trying the two side by side, there was no real difference between them.

It is a bit sneaky calling the beer a "Japanese import" in the description however.

Been drinking Asahi for many years. I would took the challenge anytime for a blind test between Jap / non Jap made one. I personally will not drink any of the re-branded beer (non-Japanese Asahi, Local brewed Corona) especially when the "fake" one are somethimes priced the same as the orginal.

With this price there is nothing wrong. Just don't think this is really an Asahi. The Japanese import one would give you a strong malty after-taste and non of the re-brand one doesn't.

    • Is it Thai or Cambo?

    • Some in Thailand, sometimes in Singapore I've seen both on the labels. But that's the case with most "imported" beer in Australia. It's usually just "imported" from a very close country, not necessarily the country of origin.

    Nice beer

  • Wonder if Dan Murphy of 1st Choice would price match????

No, because you can only get it with the voucher, not with cash.

I used to work at Dan Murphy's. The Get Wines Direct prices were all coupons. You brought the coupon into the store and we would price beat it (BEAT, not match). Don't see how this offer is any different, unless they have recently changed their policy. Any advertised price is beaten as long as the competitor actually had stock to sell at that price.

Interested to know if someone gets a price beat at Dans or 1st choice, would go buy.

      • I'd be very surprised if they do based on previous experience…

It's not in Kew… It's in East Kew.

      is that near Far Kew?

      • Near there.

  • Sold out after 66 slabs.

    • meh its probably on-date anyways.

  • Got a pack.. thinking of another but… should be enough…
