Just spot this deal. The School Locker has two 2018 Mac Mini listed with price based on their 10% off Mac and Ipad deal.

Let's admit that 10% off on Mac is now an ordinary discount frequently run by JB-Hi-Fi and others, but another 10% on top of that (capped at $100 unfortunately) makes it a decent buy in my opinion.

Apple MAC MINI 3.6GHZ QUAD-CORE/8GB/128GB - SPACE GREY $1024.1 with Coupon Code + Delivery (MSRP $1249 / 18% off)

Apple MAC MINI 3.0GHZ 6-CORE/8GB/256GB - SPACE GREY $1429.1 with Coupon Code + Delivery (MSRP $1699 / 15.9% off)

Grab one quick before they update the price.

I have the fancy 6 core i7 Mac Mini and I have to say I really like it. Everything is instant and it seems to work really well. I mainly use it for application development and Unity.

you could get a current gen NUC or similar for cheaper, including OS.

    • Humm mind to share?

      • It can definitely be done. I just built a couple of NUCs for our family business on PCCG. One i5, one Celeron.

        8th gen i5 NUC - 599.00
        256gb NVMe - 99.00
        16gb DDR4 2400 - 178.00

876 all up. I'm sure if you shopped around you could get better deals on RAM and SSD. Deals on both come up on here all the time.

The OS can be anywhere from $19 to $199 depending on where you purchase it from.

        • The OS can be anywhere from $0 to… as you can (and many do) install a version of Linux on it.

@SirDale: Of course. The Celeron NUC I built has Ubuntu on it.

I'm sure you (and everyone else) knew I was referring to Windows, Dale :).

It's not as easy to get mac os on it though.

And as far as I can tell none of the NUCs have 4 thunderbolt 3 ports - important if you want to drive lots of large monitors.

I could say "you can get a raspberry pi or similar for cheaper" but they aren't quite the same thing.

    • Yeah, but not macOS.
      At least not officially…

      • True - the Hackintosh community is very active, and apparently -some- of the NUCs are quite good targets.

Thanks OP. Bought the 256GB model and used the 10% Student Edge discount (capped at $300 instead of $100) so came down to $1,376 + delivery.

  • Listing has ended, I think it's over.

  • Arrived early today thanks seriousquokka

You’re welcome, mate. In case you don’t know, the ram in this model is upgradable, many instruction videos on YouTube. Enjoy your new Mac.

      • Thanks again. I'll go the memory upgrade sometime later.

I always enjoy my new mac, ever since my first 128K in 1984.

This replaces my latest a 2010 iMac - as finally they stopped my upgrade path.

    • Did they give you a tracking ID or mark it as sent in eBay? I'm still waiting on mine to be shipped based on eBay order status.
