Currently trying to decide between Woolworths and Knose Pet Insurance.

Woolworths gives you so many extras for the same premium, but worried about when the time comes to actually make a claim?

  • How long do we need to stick with it for the 50AUD??

    • thats the million dollar question

I have Woolworths pet insurance for my Maltese dog for the past 4 years. It goes up around 10% every year even without a claim.
I complained to Financial Authority ombsuman and they reimbursed the increase for this year as a gest of goodwill.
Pet insurance is the worst insurance in regards claims in Australia in my opinion. They make things difficult as they want to avoid paying you. Many stories of people saying they try to blame claims as pre existent conditions.
Worth it? I am not sure. I try to avoid claiming for small things as this can drive the prices up quicker. I would claim for expensive diseases like cancer though.
I just want a piece of mind as my dog is my family. But pet insurance is the worst type of insurance we have in Australia in my opinion.
