Ozito PXC Cordless Pruning Saw $89 (Was $119) and More @ Bunnings Warehouse

170

Spotted a few clearance Ozito PXC items when I went to pick up the Craftright folding workbench deal.

The first gen Ozito 18V Cordless Pruning Saw has been replaced by a revised model and is clearing out at $89 (was $119). This is my favourite Ozito tool and it has taken loads of abuse over almost 3 years. Pair it with Diablo or Kango pruning blades and it's as capable as a small chainsaw without the fuss of chain and bar oil, and safer to use one handed on a ladder.
No longer on Bunnings site but you can check stock here

I scored the Ozito PXC 18V Brushless Jet Blower with Gutter Cleaning Set 4.0Ah Kit for $89 (still listed on the site at $169). 2 left when I was at the Southport, QLD store at 3pm. Looks like a seasonal item clearing out at the front of the store.

Also at Southport there were 3 Ozito PXC 18V Cordless Pruner & Hedge Trimmer 2.5Ah Kits clearing out at $100 (was $229).

Never used that Ozito, but I can tell you that these style brushless cheap 6" pruning chainsaws below are the fastest and best pruning tool I've owned. If there was an Ozito version I'd have bought it. I had the even cheaper non brushless one first, but burned out the motor using it to cut up small trees. The brushless kit has been going great.

I think any chainsaw will be quicker than this pruning saw. It's the versatility (blade length and type), low maintenance (only cleaning) and safety that makes the pruning saw a standout for me.

    • i bought a AU$20 cheap one which was being flogged on banggod a while back and it lasted about 3 sessions before the 18V motor overheated and the little internal fan blade inside the motor melted. it was OK while it ran. i could buy a replacement 18VDC motor from aliexpress but the same thing will probably happen. i might try the $49 aldi version when the sell it again (october i think)

I'd still rather pay the Bunnings price & know that 4 years & 364 days later I can drop it in a bucket of water / disconnect internal wiring / whatever and they will refund or exchange it zero questions.

    • Do you use a Makita battery in it or do you have an Ozito battery adaptor (and if so - what battery adaptor ?)

How would it compare with reciprocating saw (e.g. when used with a Kango blade). Like this one?

It's essentially the same thing with different ergonomics and a removable clamp to hold small branches. I have both and use them in slightly different scenarios.

I got the prunning saw and occassionally use it without the clamp. The clamp is a massive help to hold down the branch so the saw can do the work efficiently. Without the clamp, the branch will vibrate and i have to use more force to try and hold it down in order for the saw to cut.

I have one of these (the $64 one) and love it. I whacked on a long blade and used it to cut tree roots underground (just pushed the blade down into the dirt lol!). was brilliant at getting those annoying stumps out. I eventually killed it, just before warranty expired, and grabbed a new one for free…..

I too use the recip for tree roots underground, perfect use case. I save my old blades for this, it may take a bit longer but hit a few rocks and it'll ruin what's left of the teeth.

  • Been waiting for the price to drop for a year then of course I bought it 2 weeks ago at full price…

Buy it again and return the new one on the old receipt.

        This is the way.

  • Went to Robina, they had the pruners on sale and the pole hedger kit for $116.25, but the blower kit was full price.

Does Bunnings price match if a receipt is shared here and provided? I probably won’t make my way to Southport till tomorrow.

    • I don't think Bunnings price guarantee applies to other Bunnings, only competitors.

I once picked up a clearance item and failed to notice a further reduction sticker on the bottom of the box, called and they said I had to come back to the store I bought it from as other Bunnings don't match managers specials.

Looks like the blower and hedger kits are now sold out at Southport.

I'm fairly certain they're both seasonal promos so keep an eye out if you're at a store that still has stock.

  • After the Pruner & Hedger kits but don't think I will have any luck with the in store.

  • was any one able to grab the Ozito PXC 18V Cordless Pruner & Hedge Trimmer 2.5Ah Kits for $100?

if so, can anyone please share the receipt? I will try to price match at local bunnings. Previously it worked for me.

The pruning saw is down to $79 now. I got one at Gladesville, still some stock around.
