I was in Hiroshima last week. The Hiroshima museum was pretty moving, and really reminds you of some of the horrific things people can do to others.
I can only speak for myself, but I was super convinced Christianity was a real thing, and it made me feel like shit when I was young. I felt guilty about everything, and I blamed peoples decisions on a higher power influencing their decisions. But as I grew up, i started to see the world for what it is, just a big old mouldy ball that evolved life far enough that the beings were able to adapt conceptual thinking.
There is too much bad in the world done without intent or purpose to believe a higher power would build this.
In the end, there is absolutely 0% proof of the existence of a higher power, and any religious person has to convince themself of its existence, based on faith, hope, groupthink, and fear.
